We had the taster menu. My husband and I had a wide variety of food that you just wouldnt of thought would go together. surroundings is lovely, food to die for, staff very knowledgeable and nothing was to much trouble. Just a taxi ride away from where we live, so we could enjoy a few cheeky glasses of wines.

When this restaurant was open, the food, service was fantastic. A little gem in Barry.

The bar is still open and holds every week Frid-Sat a singer, Mark Sheppard who really knows how to get the party going. A really good vibe and great bar.

Well, met up with an old friend to celebrate the first birthday of his first grandchild. The celebration lasted Friday to Sunday with the wind-up at The Gallery for Sunday Lunch.
Considering we were a party of ten adults and three of us are Vegetarian, The Gallery, coped admirably. There was another party of twelve at the same time and they appeared to be having a good experience, too.
Our party had either pâté or soup, as starters, which everyone enjoyed.
The carnivores enjoyed their selection of meats, crackling with the pork, plenty of veg to share, two portions to a bowl, gravy boats - all the trimmings, so to speak. For those of us who fore go meat, homemade veggie sausages were our option. They were tasty and served with an individual vegetarian gravy.
Having said that - when the table was booked, over a week earlier, it was specified there were non-meat eaters. When we arrived, the Servers, seemed to be unaware of this, a spanner in the works, so to speak. There were NO veggie options on the Sunday Menu, which was written out by hand and photocopied. Personally, think that's a good idea, you felt it was all considered for that particular Sunday.
Also, it was a set price for one/two/three course(s).
Only two of us had dessert - sticky toffee pudding (which was the last one) and what I would call 'a deconstructed' Eaton Mess, but on the menu as "meringue nest, mixed berries, cream..." - whatever.
All in all - should you go there? Certainly. Try it out. Enjoy. And for ten people a £180 bill with drinks can't be moaned over (we left a £20 tip, on top, the Servers worked for it).

We visited on a date night last weekend.
Restaurant upstairs was busy, full of large groups and was very loud.
We both had fillet steak, both came extremely undercooked. My wife sent hers back, it came cooked a little bit Better. It feels as if they just pan fry the steak instead of putting it in the oven for 10mins, it was a thick fillet, so that's what it needed really.
We were shocked at how much a steak sauce costs, it was on the 'sides' part of the menu, all at £4.50 each!
Peppercorn sauce was far too strong but the lovely waiter took it back and added more cream.

We had a bottle of wine which was good value.

After our meal, we got a table downstairs to watch the Cabaret singer, he was great. We stayed until the end of his set which was probably around 1am.

- The only thing is that towards the end of the evening, the place filled up with a younger crowd, which is fine, but it was evident that they were on drugs of some sort - ok, each to there own, but it just brought the place down for me as I thought it was a more classier place than that.

We may return, just for the live music and a few drinks.
