The trip is worth the time! This facility is very well run and beautifully kept. Staff is very helpful and a $5 tip will ensure you get all the best pics as they lead you thru all the best parts of the Falls

“How to spend a lovely afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013

It would be well worth your time to take a trip to this lovely place situated not far from the less-touristy, community-oriented south coast of Jamaica. It is well run by the official Jamaica Tourism agency so you don't have to worry about scams or being bullied into giving your guides high tips, as in some other "attractions". You will leave your transportation and enter the building which houses the ticket office, gift store and bar/restaurant. From there you are driven by a tractor pulled trolley, past fields and forests up to the falls with accompanying pools for bathing. There is a changing room with restroom facilities. The trail up to the falls is quite lovely consisting of a series of wooden steps and platforms which are very convenient for taking pictures. You can choose to try the zip line or tubing, which charge additional fees, or just enjoy the thrill of using the rope swings for free. The guides are low key and helpful. They will assist with your picture taking and ours did a good job. All in all this is a beautiful natural area which gives you the feel of the actual, non-commercialized Jamaica

“Hideaway No More”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

We visit Jamaica often and YS Falls is one of our favorites. It used to be more of a destination for locals but the tourists have found it!! YS Falls has grown in popularity and for good reason. The property is beautiful and the falls, pools of water and swings provide lots of entertainment and fun for the whole family. It's worth a 1/2 to a full day of your trip as there is a lot to see and do on property. I like these falls better than Dunns River especially if you go first thing in the morning when the crowds are few if any. Works well if you have large groups that want to enjoy each other's company and not be overrun by other tourists. Or it's a great place for couples to relax and enjoy the serenity of the place. Someone mentioned the water is not as clear as Dunns. That is true, but the water is clean and we played as a family for hours pretty much to ourselves because of the lack of crowds.

It's a bit of a ride but the drivers usually provide great entertainment along the way! They inform you of towns and history as you pass through. I would suggest hiring a private van so that you have control over arriving and leaving at your leisure. I agree with the person who did the 3 location outing ... not enough time to enjoy YS and too rushed to move on to the next locale.

The staff on property are wonderful and very helpful. The jerk chicken and patties were awesome!!

They took our cameras and took pictures for us. Of course we left them with a handsome tip!

Overall, a must do excursion if you're in Jamaica.

“Excellent and not too crowded”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2013

We went to the YS Falls as part of a three in one trip that included the Black River and Appleton Estate Distillery. All were good, but if you do the three in one, there isn't enough time spent at YS as even the grounds are worth just soaking up and enjoying in between wading in the pools or swinging from the rope. This trip is well worth it.
