We just returned home after 5 nights at Hotel Cielo Rojo. This was our second visit, and we liked it just as much as we did on our first trip in 2010. Cielo Rojo has lovely rooms, great ambiance, and delicious food in their restaurant, Bistro Organico. All of the staff are helpful, friendly, and willing to answer any questions about San Pancho. Like most of San Pancho, Cielo Rojo is only a few blocks from the beach.
If you're headed to the beach, ask to borrow one of their beach umbrellas. If ambient noise keeps you from sleeping, bring earplugs. Cielo Rojo is located in the heart of San Pancho, so noise sometimes filters into your room. We enjoyed this as part of the atmosphere.
A small, low-key, beach town near busy Sayulita, San Pancho has a wide, almost empty beach and beautiful sunsets. Nearly everyone in town gathers at the beach to watch the spectacular sunsets. The waves at San Pancho's beach can be large, so it might not be the best spot for families with children. But the town is very friendly, with lots of inexpensive restaurants.More
