CASITA CELESTIA with Palapa, pool, and placed n a tropical paradise designed by a master gardiner.
A private stairway leads through the garden down to the CASITA CELESTIAL.
Even as you approach the VILLA DE VISTAS you can tell that this place has quality.
You can feel youself being drawn to this magical experience.
Walking up to the stone welcome mat you can see all the way through to the Palapa.
Step inside and you are greeted by stars and vibrant Mexican colors.
A gracious space to sit and relax, read, watch TV, or pull up some chairs and chat.
The Mexican arts and crafts are all over the CASITA. Behind those doors is a large-sceen, hi-def TV
The kitchen is equiped wth a Bosch stove and oven. It's a very pleasant place to cook.
Looking backwards just a bit and you get a perspective on the space.
There are two bedroom suites. This one honors the sun. It's bright and sunny. And it faces east.
Another perspective on the sun bedroom. The mattresses are kig sized, new and very comfortable.
The artwork has been commissioned to fit perfectly in this bedroom. The roosters are very quiet.
Don't you just love it. The lucky person or couple who stay in the east bedroom havse a sunny bath.
You guessed it. This bedroom honors the moon as she rises and sinks over the Pacific Ocean.
The owls quietly watch over you as you fall asleep to the sound of the surf.
Double sinks in this bathroom. They honor the gentle moon.
Ahhhh. Now we go to the most spectacular part of CASITA CELESTIAL -- the Palapa. Cool all year
Palapas are indigenous to this area. They catch the cooling breezes from the ocean.
The map helps you orient yourself. We are going down the garden path to walk over to the beach.
You can see how the CASITA is located right in the midst of the jungle, with birds, flowers, animals
Notice the Palapa roof; it's 'a low hanging roof,' which creates an amazing intimacy, sorta saced.
The garden path takes you safely down the hill through a garden which is both wild and cultivated.
This is one of the several places to sit and relax. You are in the midst of this tropical paradise.
While you're sitting there you will be surprised by the sight and sound of exotic birds.
The great old trees were left standing. They've been here for a long time. We want to honor them.
The path continues. It is so peaceful to walk on it.
But it is even more peaceful to stretch out in the hammock and rock yourself to nirvana.
Several families of long-tailed blue jays live on the property. They share their home with you.
This is the gate at the bottom of the property. You are now two or three minutes from the beach.
After a very short walk you arrive at the north end of the pristine San Pancho beach.
A short walk down the beach -- about 20 minutes -- and you come to the center of the pueblo.

“Very, very nice”
Reviewed 16 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

I’d rate this a 4.5 stars if I could. The Casa Celestial is a beautiful little cabin set into a jungle hillside. Very private. Very quiet. Nicely configured for two couples, each having their own bath. The beds were very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen. Lots of colorful artwork. The place felt very secure and we didn’t worry about property crime.

The star of the show is the large outdoor palapa for lounging in. It has a dipping pool to cool off in when it’s hot. Lots of birds in the surrounding jungle. You’re in a jungle so expect to see a little wildlife up close occasionally. The grounds around the compound are beautifully maintained.

The owners, Bill and Melissa are very gracious and helpful. They obviously enjoy having guests. Their stunning house with a rental apartment below is just up the hill above the casa. There’s a swimming pool there that’s available to the casa guests. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The casa has good WiFi access, which of course is good and bad.

A few things to note:
- there are a fairly long series of stairs to access the casa. I would not recommend the casa if you’re mobility impaired. The apartment in the upper house would be a better choice though that entails some stairs as well
- there’s no views from the casa. Just jungle. The upper house has stunning views.
- it’s pretty far from town. It’s a long walk, but not something you’re likely to do on hot days. Getting a cab isn’t really all that practical there. You’ll want a car.
- the roads are pretty crappy around town, and a bit confusing. Finding the casa can be a real challenge at first. They provide good directions. Don’t drive at night if you can help it.
- streets are narrow, usually single lane, with two way traffic. But everyone seems to be courteous and accommodating so driving isn’t as intimidating as it first seems.
- get an all wheel drive with ground clearance!
- the town is a real gem. Nice mix of Americans and Mexicans vacationing there. Laid back scene, not a wild party place, but you can get a good margarita.
- prices were good, especially with the strong dollar exchange.
- I was impressed by how clean the town was
- lots of live sidewalk music.
- most establishments have some staff that speak English , but not all, so if you know some Spanish it’ll serve you well.
- we had good meals in every restaurant we visited. Seafood is the dominant theme.
- no one got sick from food or water in our party
- you’ll want to bring some food with you. There’s not a substantial grocery store in town so it’s worthwhile to make a provisioning stop in PV.
- we never felt unsafe walking around. Friendly people.
- the beach is for surfing. Waves are pretty big for swimming. I’d be very careful with kids there.
- we’re here in mid-November. It’s hot and humid. Mid to high 80’s. I’m told that’s fairly abnormal this late into the winter season. The bedrooms have air conditioning and you’ll be glad for that.

All in all this was a very pleasant place to visit. I’d do it again.

We were delighted to have your foursome on our property last week in our Casita Celestial. So happy you enjoyed the pools for cooling off, the birds in the jungle, and the restaurants in our little town. We hope to see you again.

“Fabulous!”
Reviewed 13 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

We stayed in the smallest of 3 residences, which is perfect for 2 couples. It’s charming, with the kitchen (with a small seating area) and 2 bedrooms/bathrooms comprising the indoors area. The living area is under the palapa, which butts to the kitchen through double sliding doors. The cool pool is the center of the palapa. Artwork is integrated into the design of everything, literally!
The residence is surrounded by lush jungle. There’s no view of the ocean, but it can be heard, booming in the not-too-far distance, about 10 min. on foot.
Bill & Melissa are wonderful hosts, intent on our comfort and happiness. Their staff are similarly disposed.
Realities: 1. There are three flights of steps up to the entrance area, at the level of the main residence. There is an equal number, or more, going down for access to the beach. 2. The compound is not in town; it’s a short distance (~25 min. walking along the beach or 10 min. in a car). The roads are cobbled and dirt, requiring care and a slow driving speed. There are other houses scattered around, but this place is semi-secluded. 3. The beach can be intimidating, with breaking waves making getting in and out difficult and potentially dangerous, depending on conditions. I’m a water dog (and no youngen anymore), but it took a fairly calm day to lure me in...and it took a bunch of concerted energy to get out. There were a very few people in the water when I didn’t think it’d work for me, so my opinion is relative.
None of the above lessened our pleasure, except the beach issue, which is the same throughout the area. We spent time in the water, just not along this stretch of beach.
Basically, we loved this place during our 8 day stay.

“Jungle 'Tree House'”
Reviewed 12 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

What an incredible home in the jungle. It feels like you are perched in the tops of the trees. The beautiful palapa with dipping pool is a tranquil oasis. Owners are friendly and helpful as are the caretaker. It is about a 6-7 minute drive into town, or a 10 minute walk down the beautiful jungle stairs to the beach. If you want privacy this would be a great choice. The home is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with traditional mexican tiles, crafts and artwork. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped and lovely. This casita is located down the hill from the main casa, which can also be rented. There are a lot of stairs, but if you are ok with that, you will LOVE this property.
