Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: This amazing jungle/ natural reserve its a most visit if you are close to San Francisco, Nayarit. Its only 1 hour away from Puerto Vallarta. The ecotour takes your breath away with 3 hours travel enjoying the northen most Jungle of the world. You will walk in a comfortable path watching the flora and most of the fauna of the garden: 120 different fruit threes, bromelias, orchids, ferns, cactus, 25 mammals, 120 birds, 300 butterflies and thousands of insects, watching the see as background. The information is very interesting because tells the history of the indigenous people, the Sierra de Vallejo and the State of Nayarit. The tour guides are locals and love their land. At the end, and after a few brakes to rest you will get to the Orchids Sanctuary, a collection of more than 700 plants that will fill your eyes and nose with beautiful images and fragrances. The tour ends with a feeling that you have to come back soon to witness how the garden changes each season.

After calling A. Perla, he came to pick us up at the agreed time and drove us out to the jungle. Even if it was a rainy day it was worth walking the openair orchids-trail: we got a 2.5h guided tour in the morning, got a lot of interesting or entertaining information abou torchids and other plants, like local trees, bushes, cactus, herbs, fruits and veggies. sometimes you can even see animals, too. It was marvellous being out there in the jungle, and see the orchids growing naturally on the trees. At the end of the tour we got a coffee and a little snack and we shared insights. I had a great experience! I'd recomend it to everyone like couples, solo, friends, families, elder people! http://lodeperla.com/

Going to San Pancho to hang out on the beach and enjoy the beautiful town and it's amazing hosts is made all the more special by learning about Nayarit and it's spectacular jungles and wildlife from the gregarious, knowledgeable Alejandro, Jose and the other hard-working caretakers of the Jungle Garden. Just a 10 minute 4WD truck ride from Entre Amigos in San Pancho, you suddenly find yourself in the pristine jungle that opens up to beautifully constructed walks that introduce you to the many, many kinds of life that live and flourish in Nayarit. With guides at home in English and Spanish I would recommend this to anyone of all ages. The paths are not steep (though probably not suited to wheelchairs that don't do off-road very well) so great for everyone. The 3 hour tour went by quickly given how much there was to learn, and the hosts know the area's history and how they intend to maintain the gardens and jungle for future generations to come. Please come and support them: for the small amount they ask in donation to support the tour you are giving the gift of life to these beautiful Nayarit orchids and surroundings.

It's an incredible place where you see a lot of different plants and trees and where you feel that you are in a place that invites you to keep exploring and looking for new plants. I recommend this place for sure....
