I booked a 4 week stay at the Crowne Plaza - Norwest, using points from my Priority Club account. The purpose of the stay was business / leisure, as I had relocated from the UK to Sydney. This was my first home in a new country !

On arrival, I was impressed with the large reception area and very helpful staff. Check in was easy & I was soon within my Spa room.

The rooms was spacious and offered all the standard 'high quality' features that you would expect. The bed was huge (very comfortable) & sleep was never interupted.

The room was well cleaned on a daily basis and the bathroom was restocked with 'Red Earth' toiletries every day.

As a long term guest, I used the free internet on a regular basis and never experienced any problems. I also spoke with many of the staff (usually late on an evening) and they were always very friendly.

I did not use the hotel restauraunt, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food.

I did note that several weddings took place at the hotel, usually one per weekend. This never affected my stay......but its worth a comment.

In summary, I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is working or visiting the Western Suberbs of Sydney, however it's too far away from the City Centre (if your on a tourist holiday).

Stayed here for a work conference, so I cannot comment on cost or value for money. But the hotel was exactely what I expected.

Average size room with typical ammenities. Clean and modern looking.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was plentiful and close to front door.

Location is very isolated. Not much in the surrounding area, cannot really walk to anything such as shops/restaurants. You definately need a car if staying here. Is a long drive from the airport. Took us about 90 minutes.

No noise from surronding rooms or corridor.

My bridesmaids and I stayed here the night before my wedding as the ceremony was being held nearby at the Hillsong Chapel.
The morning of my big day was a little bit hectic but the staff were excellent in providing us with whatever we needed and helping with whatever they could.
I think they made at least 5 visits up to our room that morning, bringing ice, extra towels, extra glasses and even bought our flowers up to us that were storing in the hotels cool room.
Then took all of our luggage out to our vehicle and helped load them in. Awesome service.

We ate dinner the night before in the Whispers restaurant, very nice meals although the wait was a bit too long and one of the waitresses whom I did not tip was a bit rude to us when SHE got our meals mixed up and instead of placing them at the right setting decided to storm back to the kitchen with our meals to ask the other staff who ordered what!!!

The night of my wedding day my new husband and I checked into the spa suite which was very nice and spacey, the spa was about the same size as a normal bath tub except with jets so we didnt quite fit.
After a long day and night I was starving and ordered room service it must have been well after midnight the portions were very big and didnt take long at all. The next morning we had a buffet breakfast bought to our room (which was orderd the night before) it was very delicious....loved the pancakes and although they forgot my maple syrup, I only had to ring front desk to have one bought up.
So my overall experience was wonderful and I would definetly return for a night of piece and quiet.

Checked in and found we had been booked into a smoking room even though we had specifically stated that non-smoking was needed. They moved us to a room that had 2 single beds as it was their only non-smoking option. (After 15 years of marriage it was weird to suddenly feel like Rob and Laura or Ward and June Cleaver and sleep in separate beds. How retro.)

Countertops, tub/shower and bedding seemed clean but the flooring (bathroom and carpetted areas) were filthy. (Honestly, there was a little pile of dirt in one corner of the bathroom that was there when we checked in and still there when we checked out.) I really wondered if I should be walking around in my bare feet. Besides a good floor cleaning, the place really needed some paint and to have the carpetting tacked back down in places as well.

We wondered if the neighborhood was safe as you had to use your room key to operate the lift (elevator). We didn't find this in other hotels we stayed at in Australia. It seemed like a nice enough area but I did wonder.

The restaurant was nice and the food was good (we had dinner once and breakfast each day) but it felt understaffed. Service was slow and, on the first day of breakfast, the staff was so overwhelmed that no one was available to bring tea or coffee (and it wasn't out where we could help ourselves).

The front desk staff were nice but clueless. They had no idea what restauarants were in the area. (There are some nice ones a very easy walk about a block away.) We didn't have a car and while I worked at a local company my husband wanted to go into Paramatta (a nearby, larger town). It took a bit for the young lady at the desk to get information on where and when the buses ran. (They ran along the street just behind the hotel and there were several, so we were confident it could be done.) The buses worked well once we had information.

I tried to use the internet access and, after signing on, had no luck getting the internet to respond. I tried calling their support line (a toll call) and, after waiting literally several minutes, was given an opportunity to leave a message and was assured someone would return my call. Although I left the hotel name and number as well as my name and room number, no one ever called. And yes, the charges for both the internet service and outside phone call were on my bill. (The staff did remove the internet charge when after I made the request.)

There were very few outlets. So the alarm clock was on the desk on the opposite side of the room as was the phone. Really, quite inconvenient (especially the alarm clock).

Overall, a very disappointing stay at a hotel that was poorly maintained and run by little trained and overwhelmed staff. Not what you expect from a Crowne Plaza at all.

I had a 2 night stay at the Crowne Plaza Norwest. The King Size bed was very welcoming and provided a relaxed night sleeping. The food I ordered for room service was terrible, it tasted like something was off. Overall, its ok if you are in the area.
