We had only just arrived in Sydney (Drummoyne) and decided to do a little sightseeing by car. Lunch was in order first. The staff at our lodge recommended Copo Cafe and we took them up on it. The setting and atmosphere is most casual; the staff exceedingly friendly.

We were surprised at the size of the portions: much larger than we expected. The food was very well prepared and both of us enjoyed the flavors. We're glad we took the time to eat and get our bearings, and we're very glad we chose to do so in Copo Cafe.

If you are driving, it's easier to park behind the cafe on Formosa Street ... although, to be honest you have to look hard to find it. We drove right past and had to loop back around again.

I love having breakfast here, always great coffee and wonderful service. Eggs with bacon, buffalo mozzarella and chimichurri is a favourite. An absolute hidden gem!

I live locally and just enjoyed their 4 course degustation Christmas special - in house smoked trout - the kingfish and grapefruit was a stand out, gorgeous chicken confit- beyond belief beef briscuit an a watermelon and strawberry desert - wines were matched to perfection and great value.
Service as always is friendly efficient and welcoming.
I can vouch for their coffee and breakfasts too!

We had read a review for this cafe in the Sydney Morning Herald Spectrum in early October and decided to try it. Our first challenge was finding it - the location given was 135 Victoria Road Drummoyne. It didn't seem to be there although there was a very small sign which lead into an office building. After further exploration it appears the entrance is at the rear of 135 in Formosa Street. Bit frustrating.

We sat in the bottom level of the restaurant, which was very noisy due to the concrete floors, the coffee machine and lots of people. I guess noise is the word older people use, I'm sure everyone under 40 would have called the same sound buzzy. Had it been a warmer day we would have opted for the upstairs balcony.

Staff very friendly. We ordered Mushrooms on Toast - which proved to be an excellent choice - a variety of pan fried delights. We also ordered toasted Banana Bread with Yoghurst on the side - not a good choice at all. The bread was very dry indeed and the yoghurt not at all creamy. Coffee and smoothie were fine.

When we were paying the waitress asked had we enjoyed our breakfast and I mentioned that the Banana Bread was exceedingly dry. With no hesitation the cost of the bread was deducted from the bill. We had not asked or expected that, so were quite impressed.

We will go back and this time try the hotcakes.
