The view is great and…….that is where it stops. I expected a quality day as when I was last at the sailing club a couple of years ago the food was really good and the place gleamed and looked loved. The other day it was already starting to look like an unloved pensioner palace from the 80’s which I suppose is the main clientele.

The bar staff are friendly and beer is good with no off taste from the lines so you could enjoy a few coldies on a hot summers day without that after feeling. .

The kitchen on the other hand is another story. They must now be a contractor and separate from the club??? The tables were dirty with staff slow to clean anything and just plain arrogant. They would walk into you if you did not move out of the way quickly enough. Don’t know how that goes down with the pensioners?

The food took ages to come out, especially from a kitchen with so many staff members. And after the wait the food was a disappointment being of a low quality and way overpriced. Even factoring in the view the quality, cost and service is insulting. Not what I remember at all.

We saw fresh food trucks delivering so you would think the food was the freshest but the quality is not there. The fish was overcooked and did not smell fresh, the schnitzel was a deep fried disappointment and the oysters looked like bottled oysters sitting in reusable shells (an old trick to make you think you are getting fresh)

Would I come back? For a quiet beer while watching the sail boats maybe but not to eat!
There is better value, quality food and a friendly smile at just about any local takeaway etc. You cannot hide the quality of the food behind the view and then way overcharge.

Very laid back little club where if you chose right you can have a great meal at a good price.
Some food on the menu really is overpriced but there is plenty to choose from in the $15 to $22 range which is great....pasta, seafood, burgers, wraps, schnitzel etc. Drinks very reasonable and lovely balcony.
Friend with serious allergies had a wonderful meal after chef recommended her suitable food.
Senior meals (smaller but cheaper) available.

The doorman,Dennis, retains his usual friendly greeting but something has changed in the kitchen. My wife & I re-visited the bistro in mid August and were very disappointed with the decline in the quality of the food. The flathead fillets looked like thin fish sticks and were encased in glugy batter, the mash potato was ok and the vegetables amounted to two green beans. The other meal was a very ordinary curry. We have been there many times but on this occasion there was a noticeable decline in the quality of our food. Much better flathead filets and other meals are available nearby at Sydney Rowing Club at Abbotsford and the Palace Hotel at Mortlake

Perfectly positioned... The view is unbeatable.

The food is basic, but quick and of good quality. Sometimes you really just need that cold beer, and a decent chicken parmi on a Subday afternoon and this is definitely the place to do that!

Very popular with locals, lovely atmosphere by the water but it really depends on where you sit.
It's best near the windows with the view so when there are too many people, there is a risk of missing out on the best aspects of the room.
The food is good, service is fine but it is more of the atmosphere that you come here for.
