This hotel is great value - well located, close to St Leonards station, the rooms are a decent size and in good condition, the beds are fine and the air conditioning works well. The rooms are well insulated from highway noise. The in house restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining options and good food. If you are driving, parking does not cost an arm and a leg.
But the best bit is the staff.
The service is personal and nothing is too much trouble. Return guests are especially welcomed and if you are on the mailing list, there is always a deal on offer.

Having decided to spend a few nights in Sydney to see friends, most of whom live on the north shore, we wandered the booking sites, finally selecting this hotel as it looked OK on the site.
Apart from the fact it is in St Leonards or maybe Greenwich but possibly Crows nest, and it is a bit difficult to get into if you come from the north down Pacific Hwy, it is a pleasant and convenient location. The highway noise is well buffered by room design and the ground floor restaurant layout.
The staff were excellent. It is a small hotel with a very personal and family feel. We got to know all the staff in the first day and nothing was too much trouble.
The room was stylish with a giant, comfortable bed. Firm and obviously fairly new. TV was a good size and again new with plenty of Foxtel and free movie channels. There was enough storage and hanging space. We were on the south side and the room was quiet with a double glazing window system and a new and very quiet AC system.
Breakfast was the usual continental or cooked choices and was good quality and generous. Price was reasonable. Dining at night was pleasant with indoor and outdoor options. I must say that I had the best burger I have had outside of main street, Iowa, USA. Really good. The rest of the menu was also good but give the caesar salad a miss until they do some work on it. Very boring and lacking dressing and flavour.
Had a problem in the bathroom with a leaking S trap at the back of the toilet. The management responded with speed and concern, offering us a change of room.
Secure parking underneath was easy to access with plenty of space and room to manoeuvre. At $20/ day it is a bit steep we thought.
Overall, a good choice if you want a small, personal and friendly hotel. Well worth the money.

Room tip: Best maybe north or south side rooms and back facing rooms as these don't front the highway.

Good size clean room, comfortable bed with friendly service. Left the car at the hotel and took the nearby train to city, saving the trouble of driving in the crazy traffic. Good location stay for holiday. Will be back again if the price still reasonable.

Answer: When you're in a taxi looking for the Hotel Urban. It seems that the boundaries between suburbs along the Pacific Highway are quite fluid and this creates havoc for taxi drivers relying on their GPS. 194 Pacific Highway St Leonards is not where to find the Hotel Urban- enter Greenwich into the GPS and all should be well. We were actually walking and set out from a furniture store following the street numbers to find our hotel. We ended up at 192 Pacific Highway Crow's Nest which is a school.
Having found the hotel we were made welcome and ate dinner at the Cafe Sure. Menu is not very imaginative but the food was well prepared and hot and we were tired and grateful.

We stayed here for 9 nights just prior to Christmas. Room was great, good value for $$, staff extremely friendly and helpful and we would be happy to return to this hotel. We are Sydneysiders so this area was well know to us. Not far to walk to station and also a bus out at front into the city or Chatswood. Excellent, thank you.

Room tip: Rooms in the south quiet, a/c excellent, facilities very good.
