Being originally from Manly but living overseas we always choose the Quest Grande as location of choice for home stays. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, in room washer/dryer, good kitchenette, small gym, free parking and now thankfully free internet. Convenient location across from wharf and the harbour beach . The 1 bedroom suites are large enough and comfortable for family of 2 adults and 2 infants. Homely alternative to some of the other Manly hotels. No pool is the only downside but the beach is across the road so is not needed,

Hi Alena and Steve,
Thanks for taking the time to submit your review, we really appreciate it.
Staying at Quest Manly offers you so much flexibility for your time in Manly. We like to think of ourselves as a boutique little hotel, just that all of our rooms have kitchens/kitchenettes. So you can easily walk 70 metres to the nearest supermarket and cook up a storm in your room or choose one of the great local restaurants/bars and let them do it for you.
We are very conscious of providing value to our guests and that is why we offer free parking, WiFi internet, use of the gym and sauna and daily newspapers. In addition, we do not charge any credit card surcharge for your stay no matter what credit card you choose to use. So there are never any hidden surprises for any of our guests- all we want you to do once you get here is to relax and take in all that Manly offers.
You are right, we do not have a pool, but there is a harbour swimming pool 50 metres from our front door, not to mention a number of other swimming alternatives, including but not limited to the stunning Manly Beach (200 metres away). It would be a shame to have all this at your disposal only to choose to spend your time is a crowded hotel pool!
Thanks again for your kind review and we are all looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Kind Regards,
Mark Stanley

I was in Manly for a few days and stayed in one of the ocean view rooms on the second floor, which is the upper floor.

Positives are the location - immediately across from the Ferry which makes a quick trip into the city very easy, at one end of the Corso which gives access to all the restaurants and cafes including a pretty decent one downstairs. Its about 300m walk along the corso to the surf-side of Manly and, for my money, a slightly quieter end of town to return to at the end of the day is a positive rather than staying on the surf-beach itself because that gets crazy on weekends etc. There is a non-surf or kids beach across the road, and the Kayak centre is 100m as away as well.

Room was clean and well maintained with a decent kitchen, full laundry and - unusually for Australia - a very generous shower. Love a decent rate of flow in a shower. Friendly staff, 24 hour reception and a pretty well-lit safe looking part of town. Has a small but quite nice Gym on site - machines actually work etc.

Slight niggles: can't get higher than the second floor so the ocean view down the harbour is really tree/street light level. Still very pretty. Also some street noise at this level from the Esplanade. The bus stop across the road will limit your naked walking around unless you pre-close the curtains.
Wifi is acceptable but not brilliant, which is a perennial issue in Australia, so bring your 3G.

Room Tip: I think the second floor is worth it. Maybe not the view because Manly is pretty replete with views...

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your complimentary and thorough review. It certainly sounds as though you enjoyed your time in Manly and got to experience many of the highlights.
I am also glad to read that you made it over the road to hire a kayak. It is literally a minutes walk over to Manly Wharf, and once there you can get in a kayak and paddle all around the Manly part of Sydney Harbour- you can even paddle yourself to cafes and a great restaurant at Q-Station in about twenty minutes or so. This is such a great way to earn a lovely little lunch.
Thanks again and we hope to see you back here really soon.

This apartment style hotel was perfect. It had everything you need. A full kitchen, washer and dryer right in your room ( which we used often. ) and comfortable bedding. This place is conveniently located right across the street from the ferries. It made going into downtown Sydney a snap. Five minute stroll to Manly Beach. The staff was very pleasant. They supplied us with clean beach towels every time we went to the beach. This hotel is nearby many places to shop. & great places to dine. The staff made some real good recommendations on places to eat. So many restaurants all within walking distance. Whatever your in the mood for this area had it. Seafood, Italian, Mexican , Vietnamese, Thai, Steaks, Burgers, BBQ ... Just to name a few. I need to comment on the cleanliness of this hotel. The maid service was too notch. We left for breakfast in the morning and we arrived back to a very clean room. We didn't expect our room to be cleaned already when we returned. Last thing to mention. There is a grocery store right across the street ( Coles I believe. ) that came in real handy. We bought many things and cooked in the room quite a bit. Brought a bunch of fruit and snacks with us to the beach daily. It was real convenient. When we left the friendly staff set us up with shuttle transportation to the airport. Saved us a bunch of money as compared to a taxi. I'm sorry I don't remember many of the staffs names but each and everyone of them treated us first class. We loved our stay at the Quest Manly. Thank you for your splendid service and hospitality

Dear Guest,
What a fabulous review, thank you very much!
All of us here think that it is a privilege to be able to introduce Manly to our guests. We are proud of our little seaside town and we love nothing more than ensuring that you get the most out of your time in Manly.
I am so happy to see that you mentioned our housekeeping team and their hard work. It is a joy to manage a hotel that has such a dedicated and thorough housekeeping department, and their great work is constantly a feature in most reviews we receive.
Needless to say, we are all very much looking forward to welcoming you back to our property very soon.

we stayed in Manly for 5 nights. The quest apartments are ideally located, right by the ferry and also the bus stops. There is an abundance of eateries and bars in the immediate area and also the supermarket and drinks store are very near. There are 2 beach fronts, one is wharf side where the water is calm and great for paddling and swimming, it has a section with shark nets, and then a short walk away is the surf side beach which on a good day is home to some excellent surfers. Shelley beach is about a 20 minute walk and on a clear morning you can catch a beautiful sunrise, it is also a pretty beach. The Quest was extremely clean and the staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The gym is small but that didn't matter to us as we were mostly outdoors. The view from the balcony was also beautiful, It is a little pricey but this seem normal for areas so close to Sydney

Room Tip: I can only speak for the third floor where our room was, but the views of the sea and beach were gor...

Great spot. Great view across harbour from 2nd level upwards.

This questionnaire is very tedious. I have tried to submit it three times. Why does the review have to be a minimum of 200 characters? This is too tedious and detracts from the very flexible cooperation experienced at the Reception desk!!

Room Tip: Nice walk / run to Curl Curl via coast track. Try breakfast at Curl Curl surf club. Close to shop...

Hi John,
Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am sorry that the process to write it was tedious for you. I am sure Trip Advisor have taken note of your feedback. I have certainly found that once you have done one review, the process becomes much easier.
In any case, I am delighted that you enjoyed your time with us. Manly Beach is just one of many amazing beaches that we have easy access to here, so it is great to hear you got up to Curl Curl. Dee Why, Avalon and Palm Beach in particular are worth a visit too for your next trip.
Hopefully we see you back in sunny Manly soon.

Dear Guest,
Thanks very much for taking the time to write your review.
I am glad to hear you enjoyed our location and found our brand new bedding so comfortable.
As I have said before, Manly is a bustling location. We are close to everything and with that comes a little atmosphere from time to time. There is a bus stop near some of our one bedroom apartments, but we rarely hear complaints about it. The doors are double glazed and in my opinion the magnificent views and our location far outweigh the odd noise from the street.
In any case, thanks again for the review and I hope you do come back to give us another chance at impressing you like we manage to do for the vast majority of our guests.

Wow - hasn't Manly grown up - and Quest Manly is such a great place to enjoy it. Second time in a year we came up for a mini-break from Melbourne, choosing to stay in Manly (having lived eastern Suburbs Sydney for six years) to enjoy a change of vibe and scenery. Just magical and the Quest is in such a great location - clean, modern, close to everything, staff are friendly and helpful, just love it here. Almost don't want to tell too many people about it

Dear Guest,
Thanks very much for your great review.
I am glad that you were so impressed with us and Manly in general. Every year our little seaside suburb seems to get just a little bit better than it already is. There are so many new and excellent restaurants, cafes and little bars opening up. Hopefully next time you visit we will have added a few more gems to our area.
Don't worry about telling everyone about how much you enjoyed your time with us, there is always room for you at Quest Manly.
