We flew back from Hawaii and could not get a connecting flight back with our preferred airline Qantas. We staying here which was the best thing we could have done. Relax that night with a light meal, friendly staff and very clean and tidy room. Will definitely stay here again. Just a short walk about half a km may be a bit longer to the airport, good exercise in the morning or a $7per person shuttle transfer.

A good place to stay the night before an early flight. Close to Domestic, with a c. 10 min. walk to Terminal 3. My flight was leaving from the International Terminal so I walked to Domestic Airport train station to catch a train to T1. If during running hours you also have the option of using the free airport shuttle bus between Domestic and International. If walking, the roadways and car parking lots can be tricky to navigate so take care. The hotel can provide a map showing the best route. Other options include taxi or hotel shuttle (starts at 5:10 am and need to book day before).
The reception staff were very friendly and provided helpful service. The room (Studio King – not sure why called a studio when it’s a single room and a bathroom) is smallish and basic but clean and comfortable. Has what you need for a short stay in transit. Quality with very comfy bed and bedding. Large screen smart TV on wall. No cupboards but several hangers on the wall. No main table. Bathroom clean, nice though limited toiletries (odd no tooth brush provided), no bath tub (a tub is nice especially after a long flight) but large shower with rain shower head. No hand towels (perhaps they ran out) but several washers.
Instant coffee and tea making facilities. Decent size mugs. Room lighting okay but there are few controls for making adjustments.
Wi fi free if you join mantra+ which is free and comes with several benefits. But this is a cheeky way to get guests to join. Also it said somewhere that the free wi fi benefit is only available if you book room through Mantra. I hope this is not the case as it is normal to look for the best room rates online these days and free wi-fi, although not caught on here, is standard in many countries.
Meals etc. available at hotel. Otherwise there are nearby fast food places including Krispy Kreme, McDonalds and KFC. Some café style food outlets at Domestic terminal or find your way to Mascot shops.
Views on airport side of building would have been nice to watch planes and airport activities (maybe next time).

Everything associated with this Hotel is utilitarian for the traveller in transit. We spent less than 24 hours in Sydney to attend State of Origin match at ANZ Olympic Stadium. The cost and convenience of staying at the Mantra was a wonderful fit. Clean and basically appointed with all the necessary services and utilities for a stopover. Don't expect luxury. The room was basic with all necessities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They even gave free wifi access on the lower level rooms and in the lobby during our short stay. Restaurant with good fair open for lunch and Breakfast and 24 hour room serve is available.

Room Tip: 500 metre walk to the Domestic terminal. Airport noise. North side busy road may add some noise to lower levels during peaks.

Appreciate the review.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and our facilities, very much a hotel built for transit guests.

Although a simple F&B product we take pride in it being affordable and quick as we understand that most guests staying with us want a good meal and a good night sleep prior to travelling

Look forward to your return next year when NSW defends their title...

Regards
Tom

The stay was amazing!
Parking was a breeze and free.
The friendly greeting from the front desk made check in without delay of time.

The rooms were really clean and tidy, plus the bathroom was not run down and quite new. I woke up the next day having the best sleep for a long time, the best pillow and mattress which is hard to find in hotel. I even asked where they get their pillows the next morning during check out.

The rooms are really amazing and have sound proofing, I couldn't hear any noise from the next room or planes above.

The bar and lounge was really comfortable and drinks was reasonably cheap.
The variety in the breakfast buffet was really good and the coffee was great.

Will definitely come back when I travel again!
