The Hotel generally is great, its everything you would expect, nice large rooms, clean, every whim catered for. I give it average because things on the periphery, are frankly very poor. example the shuttle service from the airport, there is no alternative, its too near for a cab, and too far to walk, but there are only very poor instructions about where they pick up from, there is no real time table, and insufficient capacity when they do turn up, (its not like its Free either)! Then I look forward to a nice hot bath first time in a couple of weeks of travelling, and the water is barely hot enough to wilt a cabbage leaf, so I had a Luke warm shower, unacceptable at £100+ per night. Obviously convenient for an early flight out!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and sharing your review. I appreciate your valuable feedback as this allows us to review our service and product, maintain or make improvements.

I do advise that the airport shuttle buses are managed by a third-party operator and not controlled by the hotel. We do have available at the Concierge Desk timetables of arrival and departures of the shuttles, together with instructions for pick-up and drop-off points at the terminals.

I do apologise for the inconvenience your encountered in regards to the faulty shower. This has been followed up with our Engineering Department to address accordingly.

Thank you once again and we hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back when next you visit Sydney.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The Raffles Suite was spacious and clean with beautiful bathrooms, luxurious amenities and lovely hot water with good pressure. Breakfast was not the biggest spread but was really very nice and fresh. The hotel is blissfully quiet considering the airport proximity. Tip: Join Senators Club.

We booked on line to stay at the Stamford Plaza as an overnight stop between international and domestic flights. The Hotel is 10 minutes from airport and there is a shuttle to the hotel foyer at regular intervals at a cost of $6 each way. The hotel desk will book a return trip on your behalf. There is also taxi but the drivers cue for about one and half hours to collect passengers and therefore do not appreciate such short journeys unless you advise up front and tip well. As part of the booking we received a $50 discount for dining in the main restaurant, which is deducted from the final bill at checkout. This all but paid for the full breakfast, of which was good quality and range, with omelets made to order. The room was very spacious and comfortable and there was no disturbance from airport noise. The hotel was very nice and a convenient location and is recommended.

Major positive is its near the domestic terminal. Can walk it in 10 mins if you want to avoid the 6 buck levy to get to the terminal.

Call me old fashioned but when I stay in a hotel half a km from an airport, and it has "airport" in its name, I don't expect to pay for pickup /dropoff. Pretty sure when I stayed recently at Rydges at International terminal it was complimentary to the domestic terminal.

For the price, the room was decent sized, clean and didn't feel like a rental apartment, like many Aussie mid priced hotels.

Major peeve... AUD 25 for the Internet for more than one hour use. When are these hotels going to wake up and smell the Roses on this issue... It's way to much and in most of USA and Asia now it's either free or you sign up free to hotel club. I would have scored the hotel higher except for this point. So I skipped talking to wife on Skype which didn't make her happy but pleased the company accountant!

Strange you know, often the cheap hotels give Internet for free, or at nominal charge. Seems like the more you pay for the room the more they feel like they want to gouge you.

and perhaps it was my own personal experiences. The rooms and the entire decor was outdated. Being an airport hotel one would have thought that 3 hour laundry service will be available but it was not to be. Our flight was early in the morning and there was no shuttle service to the international terminal until 5am (not a complain but merely to prewarn other international travellers)

The staff avoids eye contact and rarely smile at the guest. The only one who was friendly was the Burmese waitress at the restaurant.

The only asset of this hotel is actually the guest who were more friendly including the flight attendants from Malaysian Airlines.

Room Tip: This hard to say because I felt like I have gone back in time in terms of the decor which was so out...

Very convenient to the airport, price included a $50 credit at the restaurant which covered a light snack for dinner and e buffet breakfast.

Dinner was ok, buffet breakfast very disappointing only two types of fresh fruit, the rest was from a can. Lots of empty plates on the buffet and did not appear to be refilling them. Difficult to find a table because none had been cleared, please if it is going to be busy - put more staff on! Service in the restaurant was seriously lacking.

Gym was good size and we'll equipped, although would pay for someone to go through and service the machines and weights (dumbells all coming unscrewed)

Room very generous and good size bathroom too. Walking distance to domestic airport or $6 each way for a shuttle.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room

This was a stop on the way to catching an international flight. Caught their shuttle from the domestic terminal to the hotel and then back to international the next day, $6.00 each per way, reasonable and then you don't get angry taxi drivers. The hotel room was good not huge but serviceable and good food choices downstairs served late to allow for flights etc. the room was quiet and dark and the bed was firm so a good nights sleep assured.
Check in and check out efficient which is what you want when your thinking about catching flights etc.
we would choose to stay again at this hotel
