Ug I do not have fond memories of this!
The staff were generally very friendly but the room was sooo stuffy I kept waking up feeling short of breath. There seems to be no fresh air coming in through the aircon - I might be wrong but it just seemed like a cooling/heating unit. You can't open a window of course and the room was so small it felt claustrophobic. By the look of the fire escape chart on the door we got the smallest room on the entire floor - which would have been more appropriate for a single person - not two! To make matters worse it had a (locked) connecting door to another room whose occupant seemed to check in about 11pm and kept having loud conversations on his mobile about every 2 hours until about 4am - which was very loud through the paper thin wall and not appreciated when we had to get up at 4.30am for a flight!
Not sure if it was the same offender, but the stuffy room was made heaps worse by the wafting smell of cigarette smoke several times in the night! (of course this is banned by the hotel)
The noise and smoke issue may have been something reception could have helped with but as there is NO PHONE in the room we would have to have got dressed and gone all the way down to the desk to ask for assistance......
The hotel did not appear to be at all full, and it would have been appreciated had they not put someone in the connecting room, or better still, NOT put us in a connecting room!
The toilet seat did not appear to have been cleaned.... yuk!
Also the toilet and shower are in the same area, no huge deal, but it felt like a campervan toilet/shower!
There wasn't even a hand towel provided for drying your hands... you had to use your shower towel.
NO tea, coffee or kettle etc.
REALLY BASIC hotel ...... avoid if possible!
On a positive note, there was a fridge in the common area for you to put things in if you wished, but as there are no food preparation facilities it's not really that helpful.

Room Tip: I am not sure but at least ask for the biggest room maybe, and NO connecting door! And maybe request...

My partner and I stayed here on a stopover on our way to the USA. The hotel is a short walk from the domestic terminal (we walked with all our luggage) although there is a shuttle available for $6pp. We arrived at about 7:00am and were able to check in straight away, even though check in wasn't until 1:00pm.

The room itself was small, but had a TV and the bed was comfortable. The only downside was no fridge in the room.

I transited Sydney airport overnight and found the Formule 1 very convenient. It is very good value, clean, an easy walk from the domestic terminal, and has a shuttle connection to the international terminal for $6. I was given a disabled room which was very spacious, comfortable bed, and the TV and air conditioning worked well. Quite basic but very suitable for the purpose.

Room Tip: I got a disabled room by chance, very spacious

Although this hotel is very basic it is clean and close to the airport which meant we didnt have to leave home and be stuck in all the peak hour traffic. Staff were great. Close to McDonaldsand KFC. Cheap transfers to the domestic and international airport. I have stayed here a number of times and will continue to do so when I have early flights.

Stayed twice on two different nights on the 6th floor of the Hotel Formule 1 Sydney Airport. Virtually not many people up there - maybe its just winter. Room is clean & warm, en-suite bathroom is of decent size, flat TV is a good touch, and the view from up here is commendable.

I prefer the room with the bunk bed on top as it feels like a mini playground in there. The room with only the double bed makes the small room feel slightly more spacious yet more bland you know.

No fridge, no kettle, and no complimentary tea & coffee is simply unbelievable as these small 'frills' would have made for an otherwise terrific stay. Front desk staff are helpful & courteous which is always a plus.

The main reason I stayed here was to stopover and avoid getting up too early if I had've connected flights all in the same day. As it turned out, this hotel doesn't have very good noise proofing and I lay awake at midnight listening to kids playing in the corridor, lifts, and a group of people who seemed to be obsessed with chatting by the vending machine and constantly buying cans out of it. Next time I'll just get up early in Melbourne, I would have had more hours of sleep after all

The front desk staff were helpful, and it was easy to book travel to the international terminal. The room was adequate, but the bathroom felt a little prison like and I was left wondering why the hotel felt the need to bolt the small CRT TV into the wall as though to prevent theft (do people staying here like to acquire ancient televisions and sneakingly check them into their airport baggage?).

Loved the 24hr check in for online bookings
Service was good, needed a wake up call though... The room was spotless, and good for a quick stay. Not far from my destination and was exceptionally close to the airport- considering the early flight I was able to walk with carry-on luggage. Otherwise transfer was only $6. Had bunk beds, the bottom was good, but was stuck with the top which was hard to mount and the mattress was at least a 30cm too short for the bed... Bathroom was usable. I would stay again in a second if I was travelling alone or with friends.
