We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment (our family is 2 adults and 2 children). We booked one with no view as it was cheaper but we ended up with a view anyway which was nice. The apartment was large with everything we needed. It was expensive at nearly $2500 for 7 nights but had full kitchen and laundry facilities. Great location at Milsons Point, we utilised both the trains and ferries which were easy walking distance. Good eating options nearby. Office staff were very friendly and helpful. The office is only open limited hours on week mornings which is a bit of a pain. The apartment could do with a really intensive and thorough clean, it wasn't as clean as I would have expected when we arrived.

What a wonderful surprise, we booked 2 x 2 bedroom apartments attending Nat Tourism Awards - We won. Awesome views, great amenities, could look at the views all night. We would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to great shops, luna park, ferries, restaurants the list goes on. Highly recommend and will see you again.

Room Tip: higher floor, we booked 2 bedroom premium with partial views

We booked a 2-bedroom apartment for my family for 7 nights over the New Year's Eve period, 2012-13. At almost AUD$3000 for the week, this was not a cheap option however there really aren't many cheap options in Sydney at this time of year, and an average of a little over AUD$100 per person, per night wasn't too bad considering.

The booking process was straight forward - we paid a deposit when booking in April then the balance was due on October 31st. The staff were responsive to our queries by email and we received posted confirmations/receipts without issue. I was able to collect the keys early however check-in was from 2pm, and the reception is a 5-10 min walk from the apartment so definitely keep your taxi if you have luggage and you're just picking up the keys from their reception.

The apartment was well appointed with a F&P Dishdrawer, gas cooking and fabulous air-con throughout (a necessity in Sydney in summer!). The first bedroom had a queen bed and small balcony (no view) while the second room had 2 single beds (very short - no good if you're 6 foot plus). There was a thoughtful welcome basket with cereals, bread, spreads and some milk/juice. The lounge has 2 couches, both very comfortable, and there's a lovely dining room table/chairs. The bathroom has no external window but is large enough to feel comfortable. Overall I'd say it was a spacious apartment with excellent facilities.

As a location it's perfect - especially for New Years Eve fireworks. Milson's Point is 5 mins from the city by train/ferry and both the train and ferry stops were only moments away. Not having to get back on a train/ferry with the thousands of spectators after the fireworks make this an even better location!

The biggest disappointment for the apartment was the cleanliness. At first glance all looks clean, but it's clearly superficial as moving the furniture only slightly reveals months (years?) worth of dust, and under the couch cushions were absolutely disgusting - food, lint - everything. The absolute minimum effort is put into cleaning these apartments between stays I'd say.

Also, we were told office hours were 8am to 5.30pm and that we could leave luggage there for a few hours given the mid-afternoon flight (and early check-out of 10am). We lugged the bags to the reception only to be told by the receptionist that he was closing for lunch between 12pm and 1.30pm - given that my family needed their bags at 12.30pm this was frustrating (no mention of lunch closure on their door, in emails or on their website). With nowhere else to store the bags my family gave up on their planned shopping trip and headed to the airport 2 and a half hours earlier than planned - not great service given the $3000 price tag I'd say.

A little more thought and a lot more cleaning would make this a fabulous place to stay.

We stayed here for 1 week. Booked district view apartment on Broughton Street (opposite Alfred St), since other apartments were heavily booked. Overall, apartment was alright, clean, fully furnished, stroll away from train station, shops, scenic view of the opera house & the bridge. They provided starter kit (cereal, bread, milk, butter, washing powder etc) just to get through the first couple days. Communication during reservation was smooth & handled professionally.

However, there are few dislikes. Firstly, The mattress. It felt dated (sunken). It was so uncomfortable we didn't have good night sleeps.

Secondly, the location of this apartment unit. It's called district view for reasons. We were actually facing the busy bridge, busy street & traffic lights, so you can imagine the traffic noise. Doesn't matter how scenic the views are, you still need your beauty sleep.

Thirdly, when you check in, you need to tell the cab driver to wait for you because check in location is totally different from the actual apartment. The check in office is at Alfred St. The process of check in could cost your cab fare quite a bit for waiting.

Lastly, the apartment we were in has no lift & it was at 2nd floor. This unit is not suitable for wheelchair, etc.

We are in Sydney for 40 days but decided not to extend our stay here & move to other serviced apartment on Alfred St. with Lavender Bay view.

Room Tip: Avoid Disctrict View Apartment on Broughton Street.
