The country store and restaurant are so cute . The food is great never had a bad meal . I love their fried green tomatoes . Mike who does the smoking is a great guy friendly explains how the food is smoked . They sell many rubs and sauces all his recipes . He is a wealth of knowledge with the biggest smile you will ever see . Don't miss out . My son always has me get smoked turkey to take home . And don't forget the fudge . Try it enjoy and you will be back again and again. The entire staff is supper friendly and make you feel at home.

The buffet food was not hot. I ordered a pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese. She brought me Mac and cheese from the buffet at room temperature. The pork was good but the fried green tomatoes were excellent....hot and crispy. The store is awesome. Lots of country jelly and sauces. You could spend an hour in the store. Very interesting.

What a wonderful experience at Jim Oliver's. We arrived during the lunch buffet, and it was delicious with real home cooked taste. The price was reasonable for the amount of food available. I requested biscuits from our server and he brought a basketful. The restaurant allows you to sample their sauces and jellies which are also for sale in the attached country store. After the long, slow climb to the top of the mountain, it was nice to stretch our legs and enjoy a great lunch. The service was outstanding and we felt like family. We will definitely stop again and highly recommend that other folks do too.

Stopped for lunch on our way back from Nashville with family. The country buffet (which we normally do not do buffets) was excellent. EVERYTHING on the buffet was home cooked the southern way. My daughter ordered from the menu (pancakes, bacon, and grits) and the bacon and grits maybe the best ever. It is very hard to find true southern food (southern food is not cooked out of a can) but Jim Oliver's has it. Don't forget to order home made ice cream and the fudge for dessert. You will not be disappointed. And leave time to browse the General Store.

Stopped on our way through Monteagle and ended up there while the breakfast buffet was laid out. We actually opted for the buffet and found the bacon really good and the biscuits & gravy were excellent. As we were there just before the breakfast to lunch changeover, we were able to sample the pulled pork, as well as several of the various sauces. And BBQ sauces, ketchups, jams and jellies are plentiful and really varied. Besides picking out some hot sauces, we also got two "fried" pies for the road. One was peach and the other chocolate. They were different, very tasty and actually worked out well while driving. The chocolate one was very rich! The next time I'm driving to Florida, I would definitely stop there again. Our waiter, Travis, was very helpful and attentive. We'll stop again!
