“Italian seafood with atmosphere”
Reviewed 1 October 2012

I make a regular visit to Nino's every 3 month, it's just around the corner from home. This place is a bit like a institution in the way the decorations have been left all these years, it does add to its charm and that the same staff have been their forever, I generally like to sit in the front of the restaurant but the back room is fine.
The food has always been of a very high quality, serving sizes are reasonable but pricing is quite high. I usually share a entree with my partner and my favourite main in penne lobster, expensive in a main size but to die for, The fish is great as well. Bottle shop right next door.
Well worth the experience for the food and old world feel.

“Amazing home style Italian seafood restaurant”
Reviewed 9 January 2012

We have had dinner at cafe niño at least 8 times and have always had a lovely tine and enjoyed the food.
The seafood risotto (tomato based) and garlic prawns are delicious! It's really warm, hearty home style Italian with a real relaxed feel. They also serve great pasta dishes, whole snapper & chips etc. The dishes are a bit pricey (around $30-$40 for a seafood main) although they are generously sized. The tiramisu is also really yummy but the last few times we have found there is more coffee needed as the sponge was a little dry.
The waiters are mostly old Italian guys who are very friendly and easy going.
It is an older style restaurant...think dark brick interior with fish nets hanging from the ceiling however there is an area out the back you can sit in that has obviously been built more recently.
Clientele seems to be mainly families and couples and there is a bottle shop next door as it is byo.
We highly recommend you pay a visit on a cold winters night...we love cafe niño!
