Description: It's here, in Beechworth, that our bakery and our traditions began. Steeped in history as this town - and this region - is, it's a great place to live, work and visit. Making the most of two historic buildings sitting side by side right in the centre of town, the original Beechworth Bakery was established in 1984. Since then the bakery has carried on the original vision and passion for customer service and quality product, which runs through the foundation of all our bakeries. We hope you enjoy your visit to Beechworth, and warmly invite you to our bakery - your home away from home.

“Disabled access, great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Always crowded so try for an off peak time. Disabled access to ground floor level. More seating upstairs. Chicken and Leek pies are a delicious meal. Dad loved the Ned Kelly pies with an egg in them. The beestings were great. Found the pastry on the snickerdoodles to heavy for us. Cappucinos are great.

“Sugary sickly sweet otherwise tasteless food.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

We were driving and needed a coffee. We stopped, had a look and were attracted by the sign that suggested this was a "good" restaurant/bakery. It is nothing but heavily sugared white flour. My wife ordered a supposed apple turnover but other than the overly sweet apples, it was awful. We look for quality, not quantity, and, this bakery serves sugary sweet quantity. If you have discerning taste, avoid at all costs. If you like heavily sweetened food, this place is for you. The coffee, although made by a barista was barely passable. The flat white was more flat than coffee.

“NED WOULD HAVE LOVED IT.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

Had heard of this bakery on our travels and just had to give it a go. We had eaten at the one in Echuca a few years ago which was excellent and this one was no exception.
We were there for lunch on a wet but not unpleasant day and it was packed.
That did not deter from good service and being quite a big roomy place with an upstairs section as well we soon had a empty table.
We settled for their signature pie the NED KELLY, Ned would have loved it we did. Great pie with bacon and egg cooked on top, yummy.
Complimentary water on a counter near where we sat was a good touch.
This Icon Bakery is a must place to eat when visiting Beechworth.

“French Vanilla slice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

Busy bakery with heaps of customers. One good reason to go inside and have a look. My wife had a french vanilla slice which she rates as one of the best she has ever eaten. I had a pie which was good also. Beechworth is well worth a visit but allow plenty of time as there is a lot to see. Gaol, old buildings, shops, brewery, gorge, woolshed waterfall .

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Stopped in for a Ned Kelly, a pie with the lot and a sausage roll. Both great and the pies where not sloppy muck like some others. Good and filling meal at lunch time with other tourists and locals. They also have a large variety of sweet pastries, dine in or out. Good value. Even though it was busy when we went we didn't have long to wait for our service. Recommend this bakery.
