Beechworth is very well located in terms of access to two premier wine regions and also has an interesting range of restaurants, cafes and visitor attractions. The Golden Heritage is located on the outskirts of Beechworth and a car comes in very handy. However, the quality of the Motor Inn makes up for the distance and the owner, Bill, readily volunteers to drive you in and out of the town centre if you are dining and drinking. Our room was spacious and contained a queen plus a single, had free satellite TV, a well appointed bathroom, good heating and air-conditioning and while facing the highway, was very quiet. Overall, we enjoyed a two day stay and found the motor inn to be a perfect base for our visit to the King Valley wine region.

We have stayed here 4 times in the last 6 months and keep coming back ( have tried another Beechworth motel, more expensive , poorer service and surly host) we have SO appreciated the welcoming hospitality of this "home away from home". The rooms are spotlessly clean and well appointed . Hosts have put thought and consideration in touches like coffee percolator, excellent lighting, modern TV . The room is always warm and welcoming on arrival. Location is in a peaceful garden setting which further enhances this highly recommended motor inn.

Fantastic country Motor Inn .The room was spotless and the front of staff were very friendly and helpful.Even offered to drive us to any restaurant in Beechworth and collect us by 10pm so we could enjoy a couple of wines . .Manager had excellent local knowledge on shopping and history of the area .Not far from the ski fields so would always stay here if back in the area .

Room Tip: All rooms are the same .

As it was getting late my husband and l were passing through beechworth tired and hungry
came across this motel. Man in reception was very nice and had few suggestions on what would be open for food. We had a wonderful nights sleep and the cleaners do a fantastic job at cleaning the rooms. would recommend staying here if you are passing through or for a longer stay. Thankyou if we are up that way we will definitly be back.

After getting away on our trip late, we had to ring reception to let them know we would be later than expected checking in. Not only did the hotel managers keep the check-in open for us, they met us at our cottage to give us the run down on its facilities. Better still - they had already put the heating on so our cottage was warm when we arrived. With our bags unpacked we were able to quickly relax and enjoy the double spa-bath.

The cottage was well equipped with large screen LCD tv, DVD player and very sensibly, powerpoints beside each bedside table, making it easy to charge our phones overnight. Although the cold and wet weather meant we didn't spend any time on the veranda, I could well imagine it being a very pleasant spot to sit and have a cup of tea or a drink when the weather was fine.

Overall - a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. It may not have been the cheapest option in town, nor did it include breakfast (so you need to factor in that too), but the space, quality, comfort and service made it worth the extra few dollars.

Room type: One bedroom spa suite/cottage.

My husband and I stayed here with our 6yo daughter over the June long weekend. We stayed in a 2BR cottage which also had 2 bathrooms. We didn't cook but the facilities available to do so were excellent. The accommodation was also extremely comfortable; the views across the fields from our deck were simply lovely and our daughter fell in love with "Takira", the horse in the paddock next door. Bill and Anne, the owners, are very nice and helpful people. It was my first visit to Beechworth - I loved the town and the Golden Heritage Cottages so much I'm going back in August for a long weekend.
