“Easter Long Weekend”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

I never write reviews, but I feel I need to write one here about the Golden Heritage. We arrived about 6.00pm after a long drive from Melbourne, check in was quick and easy. We stayed in a Queen Room over looking the car park, for a fully booked hotel on a main road we didn't really hear any noises, the whole stay was very peaceful. Could not complain about the room, was very modern and spacious with a comfy bed and a couch, even a fridge!!!! Our bed was made every day which was great to come home to after a long day. We really felt like we were on holiday there. Didn't get to speak to Anne, but her emails leading up to the holiday were always very polite. Bill at reception was fantastic and was so lovely. We had a great 3 night stay and when we do go back to Beechworth (hopefully sooner rather than later) we will most certainly be staying here again. It was a perfect visit and we loved every moment of our stay. Sad to be home.

Brittany and Nick

Room Tip: We had the Queen Room, fantastic.

We went to Beechworth to do a sleepover at the Mental Asylum on a Friday night. We needed to stay somewhere on the Saturday as we had been up all night and checkin was at 2pm. The owners knowing this, went out of their way to have our room ready for us by 11.30am. I am very fussy when it comes to motels, but these rooms were beautiful. Very clean, very spacious and very modern. The only downside as another reviewer wrote, was the high pitch whistle when other guests were having a shower late at night. But it didn't last long. The owners were very nice and friendly. This will be our place of choice when staying at Beechworth and I have no heistation in recommending the Golden Heritage to other travellers.

Room Tip: We had a king size room which had a balcony and a little 2 seater table which had a beautiful view...

I chose to stay at the this motel based entirely on trip advisor reviews and i wasnt disappointed.
We booked a king room which faced onto the open land at the rear of the property. It was nice to sit out on the verandah in the morning and evenings watching the animals do their thing.

The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean.

My only criticism was that the building's plumbing is in need of attention. On our second night i was awoken and kept awake until midnight by the loud high pitched screaching of the pipes while a neighbour used the water.

Room Tip: Choose a king room that faces towards open land and away from the carpark and main road. These are a...

There is motel as well as cottages in this complex. We stayed in a cottage. We loved the port on the table when we arrived and the offer by the owner/manager to drive us into town (5 minutes away) if we wanted to have a drink or three. Very comfortable, maybe a little dated. It's a great location, we had breakfast on the verandah watching the rabbits and cockatoos.

Clean, functional and pleasant. A great spot to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a cottage with a view of the bush, rather than the road.

I guess if we were driving past we may not have stopped at the 4 star, Golden Heritage Motor Inn as the front looks a little dated- " Don't judge a book by it's cover". Once inside the room, we were delighted with the size, space, cleanliness, modern fittings and fixtures. The room was beautiful and out the back was a balcony with table and chairs, a perfect way to end the day overlooking the bushland and listening to the birds and wildlife. It was a very warm night but the aircon worked well and quietly. The spaceous king size bed was very comfortable and we slept well . The hosts were very friendly and even offered to drive us into town and pick up later so we could have a drink with diner. Overall an excellent experience.

Room Tip: King size bed big and comfortable

Although my wife and don't travel extensively , when we do we like to stay in reasonable accommodation at a reasonable cost. This small motel fitted the bill perfectly with the friendliest reception imaginable and a room that was impeccably clean and comfortable. Well done Bill and Anne you deserve all the accolades.

Room Tip: Rooms are basically all the same.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in a self contained two bedroom cottage and while not new it was very clean, well appointed and the rate was very competitive. The owners arree great hosts, very friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend this motel and will definetly stay here again on my next trip through Beechworth.
