My husband and I recently attended a VIP function in Beechworth and were fortunate to stay at Albertines for a couple of days. What a delighful weekend - from Judi's greeting in the driveway to our delicious Afternoon Tea tray of homemade goodies by Owen, we'd settled into our "Blue Room" with such ease, feeling welcomed like long lost cousins !! (We're not tho!!)
The atmosphere was so relaxing, you can browse the beautiful home, gardens, books, add a few pieces to the huge jigsaw puzzle (as I did), cozy up to the fireplace and mingle with other guests....... All your own choice with nothing a hassle and privacy in your own room if needed.
Three hats ! I'm pretty sure that's the ultimate in food awards - well we certainly loved the breakfasts and the different presentation each morning so voted them "1st Place."

In our experience we were treated like Very Important People !!
Thanks to you Judi and Owen.

What a wonderful weekend at Albertines! Judi & Owen are such warm and gracious hosts. They made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed the homemade cake and tea on arrival, sitting in front of the warm open fire and the scrumptious gourmet breakfast the following morning. Love the décor and the ambience of the home and the immaculately maintained garden. The attention to detail is quite amazing. Your every need is catered to. Thank you Judi & Owen for a wonderful, relaxing weekend!! We look forward to returning very soon.

I stayed at Albertines with my 2 sisters for a catch up recently. From the moment of making the booking when things were moved around to accommodate the 3 of us, Judi and Owen could not have been more gracious and wonderful hosts. The afternoon tea on arrival, the room, the divine breakfast, the surroundings, all were first class. France being one of my favourite places, I especially loved the french touch about the place. I cannot recommend Albertines highly enough. Thank you Judi and Owen

We first visited Albertines in March 2012 and were very impressed, so much so that my wife wanted to return in July to celebrate her birthday with friends who also stayed at Albertines. Over the many years of extensive travel both in Australia and overseas we have rarely returned to a property, as our experience has been that when you have a great experience it does not have the same magic on the return visit. In the case of Albertines not so, our second visit was as fantastic as the first. We arrived at 3pm and were greeted by Owen and Judi in the same friendly and warm manner as with our last visit, our rooms were ready. The weather was cold as you would expect in winter, the heating was on so our room felt very inviting, after unpacking we settled in the guest lounge on very comfortable lounges by the open fire which Owen kept well supplied with wood. Owen prepared a platter of local cheeses which we enjoyed with wine from Owen's supplies, this is how we relaxed in the late afternoon on both days of our stay. So why is Albertines so great? it is firstly the friendly, warm and professional approach of Owen and Judi and they do everything at the highest standard consistently, the quality and cleanliness of the spacious rooms ( the bathroom's have heated floors in winter), the service, you don't have to ask for tea, coffee or a cheese platter, it is offered, you are made to feel at home all be it a very pampered and luxurious home. The property overall is just so relaxing and even though the garden was in it's winter dormancy you see it in a different light and it is still extremely enjoyable and interesting to explore and of course Judi's breakfast's are all so yum and never rushed. It seems inappropriate to write of Albertines as the "third person" as it is really Owen and Judi who have created and make what it is, which is a truly fantastic place to escape to, for us we have broken our long held rule and will return again, it is really that great and for any traveller wanting to visit Beechworth it would not be a complete visit without a stay at Albertines.

One of the top 5 B&Bs I have ever stayed at over the years and not just in Australia. I a latish in and an early out both of which were handled perfectly. My bedroom was very nice and as it was winter the underfloor heating in the bathroom was greatly appreciated. Owen's recommendation of where to eat was spot-on. Breakfast was excellent if slightly earlier than is usual. You can't do better anywhere even close to Beechworth than Albertines so save yourself the trouble of looking and just call Own or Judi.
Justin.

The warmth of the roaring log fire is surpassed only by the warmth of the welcome. Albertines is the B&B where you feel at home, a pampered home, rather than a guest to be put up with.Such is the Albertines experience, one of complete hospitality, complete anticipation of your every need and complete luxury. I can just imagine what is happening down there at the moment. It's a beautiful Beechworth morning, Owen has already been to get the papers and has carefully and silently put them under the doors. Judi has the table set for breakfast with one of her imaginative creations holding sway at the end. The kitchen is a hive of activity, the eggs have been taken from the fridge, the tomatoes are awaiting the pan, the bread for toast is ready beside the toaster and Owen is anticipating who will want what this morning. The cereals, muesli, fruit and juice have been laid on the side board, in keen anticipation of the hungry horde, the muffins are probably in the oven, and if there is another porridge lover!!!!!!! the oats are steeping in Owen's secret ingredients. Judi is putting on the apron and sharpening the pencil for her order pad and for a moment there will be a period of calm before the first hungry guests shuffle out to partake of the breakfast feast that will set them up for the rest of the day. Oh I wish we were there!!!!!!!!

Once again we had a wonderful stay at Albertines. We have stayed at many B & B's and Albertines is by far the most welcoming and loveliest stay of them all. Owen and Judi's hospitality and attention to every detail made our stay one to remember, from the spacious and beautifully appointed rooms to the divine breakfasts. We will most certainly be back.
