“Loved it here”

The Old Priory is a fabulous place to stay, we stayed here for my sisters 50th birthday and so there were quite a few of us, we stayed on the Friday and Saturday night and had a kids game room, dining room, breakfast room, library and tv room almost all to ourselves, we loved the charm of this place and the size of it is enormous, in fact I have never stayed in a place like this before, was extremely impressed. There was a continental breakfast included as well, and the price was really reasonable. It was so good that as there were 16 of us we could all meet together at the common rooms as hence all be together and comfortable. The staff were also great too. The room was a good size and an open fire in our room. So impressed and will definately be back, meal was great on Saturday night too. Really warm, rustic and charming place to stay, you wont be disappointed.

We stayed one night at the The Old Priory in the Miner Room in the town of Beechworth and really loved the rustic charm and history of the building. Would recommend for a nice weekend away. Its locality nearby the town was very useful and a basic breakfast meant we saved a few dollars on eating out. Love the fireplace!!

Room Tip: Miners room cottage was a great choice.

If you enjoy listening to other people have sex, being kept awake by noisy children, people inconsiderately banging doors, drunk blokes talking loudly late into the evening, or people walking loudly around their rooms or the hallways, then this is the place for you. You can hear everything through the walls and floors in this place. Not worth the $95 (with shared facilities). Worst night sleep in a long time, a horrible end to our holiday.

Not much breakfast choice. Could be cleaner and is fairly noisey when others staying at same time. However it is an interesting old building which I really enjoyed wandering around. Nice warm electric blankets. Clearly used for regular school parties so has that shabby dorm feeling.

Do not mistake the Priory for the Hilton, it isn't. However, it is clean, comfortable, a really interesting building with very relaxed and friendly staff. It is great value for your money. The place is set up for group stays, be they a huge school camp or a small group of cyclists. Not the place to stay with your wife for a romantic weekend, but ideal for four families and their kids, or a bunch of mates. Very, very quiet, yet only a block from the main drag, it's a great location. The new cafe in the garden is good, too. Beautiful setting, near perfect, with very friendly service and fair pricing.

Stayed here in Oct12. Shared bathroom and refurbished to the standard of a scout camp, with beds as good as you'll find in any government refugee camp. Sorry you holiness I hope you won't excommunicate me but it is what it is! Cheap and good for a night away with the boys and if you can convince your girlfriend to stay there...she's a keeper!

Our pipe band recently performed at the Amulet Winery Highland Games and need accommodation in nearby Beechworth for a couple of nights. The Old Priory made an excellent location for us. It is a huge and sprawling Victorian era building, with one central dining room where you can catch up with your mates, as well as other visitors to town. There was also a large Games Room which provided a perfect venue for band tune up. The Old Priory is centrally located in Beechworth and groups of us were able to wander at our leisure and enjoy the quaint boutique shops of this alpine resort town.

Room Tip: Get in early.
