“Very Quiet location yet close to town.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

Stayed two nights while on business in Sunbury area. Found staff very helpfull but not obtrusive, the room to be very clean and comfortable, bathroom facilities very clean with really hot water shower and good water pressure. Did not use the movies available or any in house dining so cannot comment on these.

Room Tip: Leave it all up to the staff they will see you right

Short overnight stay on a long trip. Well maintained older style motel in a very quiet location. Very comfortable bed and newish carpet. Bathroom is older style with toilet and shower behind a closed door and the hand basin is outside in a counter top with a microwave and kettle. Nice place to stay.

A 70' style motel with some upgraded facilities at a reasonable price. We stayed there to attend a wedding in the area. The unit is clean and comfortable with good heating/air conditioning. The Motel is located in a quiet and pleasant location well away from the busy roads in the area. A good hot shower in an older style of bathroom. Andrew the owner was extremely helpful advising of eateries in Gisbourne and even offered to run us into Gisborne in his own car when there was a long wait for a taxi cab. Great for a short stay in the area.

This motel is very basic. Whilst the room was clean I think the bathroom and shower area badly need a good clean or a change of tiles. Grouting was questionable. Air conditioning was good and kept the room warm during the night. Would recommend but only for one or two days at the most.

this is our second stay at the Gisborne Motel
The bed is very nice and comfy to sleep in, the rooms are clean, the shower is brilliant with great pressure, its also a lovely quiet location Andrew the owner is very nice and welcoming
only fault UHT milk capsules, would prefer small fresh milk as we stayed 5 days or in a small jug
for shorter stays but no drama as great coffee in village from 7am
we will stay again

Recently stayed at Gisbourne motel as we were going to a surprise 70th birthday party. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy. The staff was very polite and friendly and went out of there way to help us find our key when it was missed placed. The bathroom was old but had the best shower which is important to me as I need the heat from showers in morning to get moving. Overall a pleasant stay. The food in town beautiful, especially "My Thia and the coffee shop three shops down where we had the biggest breakfast "

Stayed at the Gisborne Motel for 1 night recently due to events attended in the Macedon area.

Booked accoms over phone with owner a few days before arriving; got last room available (#5). Gave credit card number to secure booking but actually paid on check out (no deposit).

Motel is only a couple of minutes off the freeway so very convenient if you have a vehicle; if you don't then know it is on the edge of town amongst the outskirts residential area, not in the centre.

Room was okay size and clean. Bathroom had shower with glass door, sink, mirrow and toilet. All clean. Basic toiletries (soap, shower cap, combined shampoo/conditioner) supplied. Towels, face washers etc all in good condition.

Tea/coffee making in room with little milks in the small fridge. Mini bar stocked if you want that.

Air con worked fine and fairly quiet; even though we checked in on a 37C day (yep, the hot one last weekend) we found the room was not hot or stifling at all so only put the air con on briefly before sleeping and turned it off once in bed. Room stayed pleasant all night and was not stuffy on waking at all.

The room had a long bench running down one wall where the tea/coffee making, fridge and TV were; and also had a full length mirror on the wall. Another wall had a good sized desk and chairs along it. The bed was accessible from both sides with side tables, lamps, bedside clock etc. Curtains kept the outside light out adequately.

Iron and ironing board in the room as well as extra blankets and pillows.

Hair dryer was available at reception.

Dial up internet available in the room and free Wifi in reception area with password (we didn't use this but did notice on i-phone that it actually was still in range while in our unit).

Could hear some others talking outside in courtyard quite late but nothing excessive (and this is not motel's fault) but couldn't hear the shower, toilet or noise of the adjoining units and the motel was full the night we stayed.

All in all, there is nothing fancy about the rooms - a bit dated or slightly 'tired' decor perhaps but it was all very clean and neat and while we only need accoms for one night it would have been perfectly fine had we needed to stay another night or two.

Cost $105 for a double room, no breakfast (there was a breakfast room near reception but we hadn't paid for breaky as we didn't need it this time around).

Perhaps we just 'lucked in' but my experience was certainly a whole lot better than some of the negative reviews posted here; more in line with the positive ones. Just think 'typical, smaller country motel stuck in 70's decor but clean and servicable for okay price' and you get the picture.

Room Tip: Room #5 was at the end of one of the two blocks of units; while decor was 'dated' it was cle...
