Visited this pub for Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere with a good mix of age groups, nice to see a pub that attracts locals. Cosy inside with the large fireplaces. Food choice very good and reasonably priced. Will definately be coming back.

as usual with the area wich we have visited a few times now . we were lucky enough to be resided here at the CRICETERS ARMS this time and we were simply amazed . as the norm the people in this area very friendly and happy to help if they can. as for the cricketers the owners and the staff could not do enough for you and your needs, i even left my mobile phone charger in the room when i left so phoned them to inform and they reunited me with it by post within 48 hours without any prompt or charge. small things like that go a long way with me and speaks volumes.
also the lovely log cabin rooms are set round the back of a lovely old vintage pub wich reminds me we had a lunch and a breakfast there. both meals were fantastic too , they do promote a few in house home made breads and baked beans and huge pizzas , all are very good . im not surprised about the great reviews they get cos they deserve it.
even in the waterlogged climate we are having and this area has been flooded badly to the point of seeing water pumps in most front gardens from 4 miles out the people and the buisenesses of tangley and andover just keep smiling and can tell you who needs what in the community such is the closeness of them all and i love this . in fact i was diverted to the cricketers because because of flood damage to my usual residence hatherden farm but was so taken in by the lovely way both paces have dealt with us ,we even met with the ownwers haterden farm who could not stop apologising for our transfer even though they were pumping out their property . like i said before such is the great nature of the people in Tangley / Andover. so i thank them all for our good stay made great by fabulus people and lovley places to lay our heads xxx

Room Tip: room 8 was fab and our friends can vouch for room 7 and all cabins are set back making them naturally quiet

Wonderful ancient inn, well worth making the short detour from the A303.

We loved the The Cricketers Arms:
Unspoiled atmospheric inn
Superb real ale served straight from the barrel
Excellent and varied menu, all freshly cooked to order
Inviting inglenook fireplace
Welcoming proper landlord

No music! Thank you!
No gambling machines
No TV in the bar - excellent!

We stayed the night in the toasty log cabins behind the pub - comfortable, quiet, and clean. A top-notch and generous full English breakfast rounded off our visit perfectly.

Highly recommended.

What a hidden gem! A real country pub of bygone times with good accommodation. Whatever the weather this is a place to be at. We have visited many times either for good pub food (great steaks and famous pizzas) or just a drink or two. Certainly good value all round. On occasions dogs outnumber humans (maybe because they always get a treat first). Ed, Karen and the team always give a warming welcome.

Best recommendation I can give is that we will be back with our friend Pumba.
