“Great apartment to stay in yarra valley”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

We arrived to see a beautiful house situated on higher grounds. First impression is good and it continued to stay that way. Kitchen is well stocked, apartment is clean and bed comfortable. Toilet is clean and water pressure excellent. There is dryer and washing machine. This is like a home away from home. We stayed in the terrace apartment.

We stayed in the treetops and absolutely loved this apartment. Its was tastefully decorated in a Japanese theme with so many attention to details like pictures, candles, robes, chocolates, the "to die for" bread and granola, milk, juice, coffee, selection of teas, hot chocolate and everything you needed in the kitchen to be self sufficient. Loved the front private balcony with the great views and the little patio garden out back. We really enjoyed the big spa tub and heater in the bathroom as it was quite chilly when we stayed. We also used the washer and dryer which were very nice and supplied with laundry soap. Our only regret is we didn't stay here longer!

I spoilt myself and recently stayed in both the Terrace and Treetops apartments for my five day visit to Healesville. Such a delight!! Both wonderful apartments, a treat to be in, the owners have done well. So relaxing and comfortable; a home away from home and a bonus of the fresh bread, juice and jam on arrival. Relaxing on the decks, enjoying the sun and wildlife was the highlight of my stay. Look forward to returning next time I’m in Healesville.

Thank you Tania. It's great to hear you enjoyed the apartment and the breakfast provisions so much. Fortunately we don't normally have loudly arguing guests: sorry you had to hear them! We hope to see you again some time.

We used the Healesville Apartments as a base for visiting the vineyards in the Yarra Valley. It was the perfect solution. The apartments (Treetops) are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hosts have thought of many little details which make your stay very comfortable. We loved sampling some of our wine purchases on the terrace. There is also a winery and a brewery within walking distance to save the driver having to abstain!

Room Tip: We stayed in Treetops but all rooms are quiet, with ample space, nice sunny terraces, well equipped...

Our recent stay in the Fig Tree apartment at Healesville Apartments was our third. It's a delight to stay somewhere where so much effort has gone into the decoration and fit out of the apartments and the comfort of guests. Spacious, airy, stylish, relaxing, comfortable: we thought that the cost of the apartment offered real value given all that was offered. The breakfast impressed us once again: orange juice, quality granola, a wide variety of tea and coffee, superb bread and locally made jam. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Healesville.

Room Tip: We chose the Fig Tree apartment as it offers two large queen sized bedrooms.

Stayed here for 2 nights in garden apartment, unit nice and clean and very quiet. . Plenty of cooking utensils, but really are not needed as these units are so close to the main street, with plenty of choices of eating places. Lovely breakfast provided, enough for a few days with a large loaf of bread, muesli, milk and orange juice. My only gripe is the bath/shower, it is a claw type one with a curtain around it. Not real easy to get in and then you have to hold the curtain with both hands . Also 5 steps up to unit and then a steep path, not real easy when I did mention I needed a unit for someone not in good health. Nice garden area out back to have meals or just feed the birds. Overall very nice place for a few days.

Thank you for your review of your stay: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed our proximity to the main-street. The Garden, as advertised does have a claw-foot bath so it is probably not the best apartment if someone has a mobility problem. If you do stay with us again I'd suggest the Fig-Tree might be the best option as it has a walk in shower and minimal steps to access the apartment. Jacky

We stayed in the Treetops apartment for three nights as a base for touring the Yarra Valley. The views were lovely as was the decor. The friendly and helpful owner had obviously gone to great effort to create a modern, relaxed and contemporary look and, aesthetically, she definitely succeeded. The apartment was fully equipped in terms of appliances although the kitchen lacked the range of basic cooking utensils we needed to take advantage. We had to improvise to some extent to create a cooked meal. The real downside was the distinct lack of storage space. There was no wardrobe to speak of and the hanging rail provided only had 3 hangers. There was no space for storing our luggage so we created space in the fairly large cleaning cupboard. Living out of suitcases, literally, was fine for three days but I expect would be wearing for a week or more. During our stay the air-conditioner was broken but the owners had provided some heaters to keep us warm. Overall a very, comfortable apartment ideal for a short stay but definitely in need of some attention to practicality.

Thank you for your review of your stay in the Treetops: We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the décor and views offered in the Treetops. I'm sorry there was so few clothes hangers on offer: we normally have a number more but they do have a habit of disappearing and we obviously did not check prior to your stay. If you have a chance to drop me an email with suggestions of what other cooking utensils you think are needed that would be great. We do supply all crockery, cutlery, saucepans, frying pan, colander, serving bowls, platters, large spoons, can opener, and various other implements. But I know when I cook in another kitchen I discover something else I need. The reverse-cycle air-conditioning unit has now been replaced with a new one so we have been able to dispense with the temporary heaters. Regards Jacky
