My wife and I stayed 2 nights in the lovely self-contained cabins of Kangaroo Ridge. It surely wasn't enough. The cabins were beautiful, the location in the heart of wine country could not be beat, and the view was spectacular.
The cabins were clean, well decorated, and big enough to have everything you could ever want, but small enough that no romance was lost. They were well kept, well decorated, and well hidden away. You were provided a good amount of food, and a bread & cheese plate upon your arrival, which were very delicious. We enjoyed them on the beautiful balcony overlooking part of the valley, just before we barbecued up some dinner. We also enjoyed a couple nights in the hot tub, but unfortunately did not get an opportunity to cozy up in front of the fireplace.
We were very happy with it's central location in the middle of the Yarra Valley. It allowed us to hit several wineries and still be close to home. It was also fairly easy to find.
Finally, since we are from the US, it was great that I got to see a kangaroo bounding down the hill of the ridge. There's lots of wildlife, and that includes hordes of rabbits. But for the nature lovers, it can't be beat.
Overall we loved Kangaroo Ridge. It was really special, and there is no doubt in my mind that it just can't get any more romantic and lovely than the cabins at Kangaroo Ridge.
