“Second Visit even better than our first Visit!!”
Reviewed 21 September 2010

We have stayed at Myers Creek Cascades twice now and we loved this stay even more than our first visit.
The moment we walked in the door we instantly felt relaxed - so cosy - romantic!
The wood fire, set ready to light, adds to the romantic ambience of the cottage.
Silverbrook Cottage is our favourite - the presentation is lovely and everything was very clean.

This was our second stay in 'our' cottage - Dreamwood - and it was even better than we remembered. The cottage is gorgeous and cosy and surrounded by bush and had everything needed for a relaxing weekend. The hosts, Jan and James were once again very friendly and accomodating and organised last minute bookings for a massage and dinner. We loved the whole experience.

We thought this place was really beautiful. Silverbrook cottage is gorgeous and the ambience was perfect for our anniversary. However the service was not. For the money you pay Jan in particular couldn't be less helpful. Not only did she not book us in to start with (we had to call back to see where our confirmation was only to be told we hadn't been booked in) but when we had no hot water on both nights, (cold showers and cold spa tub) she didn't even apologise and instead seemed as though we were annoying her when we phone reception about it. Then to top it all off, once we got back home my credit card was charged again 2 nights after we had checked out. When I phoned to get it refunded I was just told "I thought you hadn't paid, I will get that refunded". That's it! Even though she knew all about the cold water...lovely spot, but not for the price with the attitude. Shame...we definitely would have spent more anniversaries there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at Myer Cascades Silverbrook cottage. The cottage was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable.
We loved lying back in the spa, overlooking the waterfall and croaking frogs, with the roaring log fire providing a cosy and romantic ambience. Highly recommended. Jan and James are great and discrete hosts.

This is now my most favourite place to stay over a long cold weekend. The cottage setup is perfect and the surrounding trees and ferns really add to a feeling of seclusion whilst only being minutes drive from town and other local attractions. The owner James is very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a peaceful relaxing romantic place to stay, then look no further. Attention to detail is superb, location beautiful. Just Perfect. Each cottage is secluded and surrounded by ferns and gum trees. We stayed in Silverbrook cottage and enjoyed having a spa and watching the waterfall outside the window. You can choose to order a breakfast hamper and dinner at the historic Healesville Hotel, but, if you want to BYO you can do that too, each cottage has a kitchen, wood fire and reverse cycle air con. Totally private and peaceful. The bed was a comfortable pillow topped king size and the bath room had a lovely double shower - with bush views!

Stayed for the second time for a romantic two night break. We have tried quite a few similar places and this is one of our favourites. We didn't go out at all this time, preferring to fully enjoy the seclusion. Last time we stayed in Silverbrook with the waterfall view. This time was Dreamwood which is surrounded by tall trees but was special in its own way, having kangaroos and potoroos jumping by and a visiting family of quite tame kookaburras who came to feed, some sitting on the verandah rail. The TV has been updated since we were there 2 years ago which was good. We ordered a breakfast tray at $30 this time which included 2 huge mushrooms, 4 eggs, bacon, a tomato, 2 kiwi fruit, piece of rockmelon, 2 tubs of peaches, 1 tub of yoghurt and two small butter dishes. This was in addition to a small bakers delight loaf (used to be home-made) cereals, spreads, teas, coffee, oranges to squeeze and milk which is standard. The only criticism is there wasn't enough butter. We brought a chicken for one night and bbqd steaks the other, the kitchen is good for basic cooking. Its just a gorgeous place, what else can I say? We'll be back again next year.
