“Very good, but a little overpriced.”

We stayed at The Barn. The accommodation was very clean, very comfortable and in a great location. It was great to have lots of kids videos available and also some toys and games in the cupboard. Having the fire lit on arrival was also a great touch. There were wallabies in the paddock in the morning and the farm animals were great for the kids.

However I would just consider the pricing a bit high for the standard of accommodation. The kitchen was a bit basic (one sink broken) and the oven needed a better clean. Also, it was an icy weekend and we could have used a bit more bedding (obviously this would be irrelevant in warmer weather). However given what is available in the area you could not do better.

We stayed at four different places during our two-week trip to Melbourne but the Pines Cottage in the heart of Healesville was my favourite, hands down. The charming little two-room cottage fit our family of 5 perfectly. Shelly had thought of everything — there was fresh milk in the fridge, fresh eggs from the chooks in the back (which our 6yo daughter got up every day ready to feed!), shower amenities, even choccies for the kids.

Possibly the best bit for the kids was the fire, which they each got to help Daddy make every evening at 5pm when we got back from our day's sojourn. We spent our nights playing Ludo by the fire, or watching Iron Man movies by the fire, eating popcorn. It was heaven.

I dropped a button from a jacket, and Shelly actually found it and mailed it back to me in Singapore! Amazing service you wouldn't get from most places!

We really hope to make a trip back again — the Pines Cottage has made it to the top of our "Must Stay Again" list.

Room Tip: The Pines Cottage fits up to 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) comfortably. Larger groups would probably love the...

We spent a relaxing weekend away in comfort and warmth!
I was very impressed with the combination of the old style cottage charm and the modern amenities.
The house was clean, warm and had everything we needed to relax. Loved the chooks!
Will definitely be back & recommend to others. Thanks!

We booked the Healesville Garden Accommodation for my fiance's 30th birthday. The house was absolutely stunning and a perfect place to host a big family style weekend away with close friends. We loved cooking in the gourmet kitchen and spent numerous hours in the outdoor, 12 person spa.

We spent three nights with 12 friends at Healsville Garden Homestead. The facilities were excellent and the kitchen and dining room worked well for our self catering. How great was it to have good pans, substantial chopping boards, a large oven and sharp knives! We used the barbecue, although it was too cold to sit outside in the small garden. The open fire in the lounge was especially welcome when we returned from a trip to Lake Mountain where we hit an unexpected snowstorm. Everything was very clean, and our hosts very obliging. Access to the town was easy by foot.

Room Tip: Ensuite rooms and chairs in the large hall made it easy for groups and individuals to have some quie...

We spent two night her on a short trip to melb for a wedding. The accommodation was lovely, the beds comfy, the spa huge and very well used and the service from the managers when we had a small issue was so fast! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great weekend away, relaxing holiday or would be perfect for a family Christmas as it sleeps 12!!
