It is evidence of the host, Wendy's, persuasiveness and her cottages' attractiveness (from the moment you drive into the glorious drive-way...) that led us to make this - our first review on Tripadvisor, after having been frequent but passive users since 2007! Sanctuary Park Cottages is a perfect base for you and your family to explore and enjoy the Yarra Valley and its surrounds. The hosts, Wendy & Alex, have thought of everything you could possibly need when you come back from a whole day of sight-seeing or wine-tasting or all-of-it - you could not want for more! And, very friendly goats as well! Wendy, a big Thank You for your wonderful help with Healesville Sanctuary and Puffing Billy! We have and will recommend this place, and cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: Sunset Cottage has sprawling views over the paddock and is close to the friendly goats! Other cotta...

Nice cabins. Private, roomy, well appointed, looking over the garden/ lawns.
Breakfast provisions are basic/ ok.
Little sombre, jaded inside.
Not too far from town for supper (there’s an excellent Indian restaurant in Healseville), and perfect to visit the Sanctuary, which is also excellent.

I stayed in the Loft Cottage the night before my wedding with my maid of honour, then the night of the wedding with my new husband. The cottage was absolutely beautiful - my photographer had a field day! The grounds were gorgeous and very well maintained too. Would have liked more of an opportunity to see them! Everything was very good quality and well maintained. The bed was comfy, and the rain style shower was great. The spa was amazing, but took ages to fill, so make sure you leave plenty of time!
I had family members staying in a couple of the other cottages, and it was very easy to visit between the cottages, but still lovely and private.
Wendy was lovely and very helpful. Upon checking in we were able to take a few DVDs and board games to entertain ourselves during the night.
My maid of honour tells me the fold out couch was fairly uncomfortable. Usually you would only book the loft cottage for a couple, so that wouldn't usually be a problem.
Wendy was very helpful in getting the water turned back on ASAP when it got cut off in the middle of getting ready for the wedding. She even offered us the house shower (on tank water) if we needed it.
There was a massive spider in the bedroom, which can't be helped when you're in the middle of the bush. There is bug spray provided, but I ended up getting my dad to help as I am quite afraid of spiders. I'm sure Wendy would have helped if required.
My family that were staying with me all seemed to enjoy their cottages too.

We recently stayed at Sanctuary Park Cottages while visiting the Yarra Valley, and had an amazing time. The owners were friendly and helpful, the beautiful cabins had everything you could need, and they organised a great winery tour for us as well.

Our cabin had a full kitchen, nice linen, spa bath, wood fire, comfy lounge; it was a home away from home. It was a very relaxing stay that was out of the way while still being close to Healesville for supplies and terrific attractions.

The tariffs for these cottages are very reasonable on their own - but we happened to get an amazing mid week deal, buy two nights stay three. And their fresh free range eggs topped off the experience. If we're ever in Victoria again, we'll definately be stopping back here.

We stayed there for 3 nights on 20 Feb. We really feel that we are at home and don't want to leave. Wendy is so friendly and helpful. The kitchen is impressive, even food containers are supplied. Whatever you have at home you will find it here also. We even found a toy box for my 2 years old son. The cottage is self contained, very spacious and lots of privacy. The morning view of the surrounding is breathtaking and my son was so excited that he fed the goats. It's the best place I ever stay, will definitely recommend to my friends. Thanks Wendy!

We arrived on a very hot day, and the mult-level cottage was quite hot, especially in the bedroom upstairs. But the evening cooled down, and we enjoyed the wonderful quietness of the surrounds which encouraged a deep sleep. The morning brings wonderful views over the lovely expansive gardens, with much bird-life to listen to, together with a bellowing cow. The environment is really rustic, and very relaxing. The cottage itself is well equipped, and the cooking facilities are comprehensive. The shower is generous, and we also enjoyed the large spa bath. It is ten minutes out of Healesville, and there is a panorama of trees and mountains all around. The cottages are well separated from each other, and therefore provide complete privacy. It is a wonderful place to get away from city life. The cottage was spotlessly clean.
