“Beautiful when wet!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2010

The cottage was warm charming and welcoming despite the constant rain. Wood fires and rustic decor, comfy beds and super quiet location helped for a relaxing time out. Don't expect restaurant and shop convenience here though it's a good 10 minute drive out of Healesville, though about as close to The Sanctuary as you can get. Not the cheapest of city escapes, but accommodation, especially for the weekend, in the Yarra Valley tends to be overpriced. Those pesky wabbits are must be a real problem if cute for visitors, and the rosellas astonishingly vibrant in colour. Beautifully kept surrounds but take a torch if you want to BBQ after dark.

Three nights of pure relaxation. Every amenity you need + a few extra bits make this a perfect location for a 'stay in holiday' if you want. Very cosy with wood fire & spa. Liked being able to sit on the verandah & watch the bunnies hop around. Great spot for couples & families alike. Would highly recommend.

Thank you so much to the hosts of Sanctuary Park, Alex & Wendy for making a truly wonderful break for our family. We have 4 small young children and on deciding we needed a trip away together, we choose Sanctuary Park. What a great choice it was too.

The cottages at Sanctuary Park offer everything we needed, especially for a young family. The location is amazing - the kids loved the playground and the room to run around playing and kicking the footy. The animals were just a bonus.

We will definitely be back. Thank you again Wendy & Alex for allowing us such a terrific stay. We'll be recommending you to our friends.

The Sanctuary Park Cottages has become one of our favourite city escapes especially during winter. Wendy and Alex are just the perfect hosts and are always willing to help make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. The spa's and wood fires in the cabins are a perfect touch especially during winter months. The common grounds area and the cottages inside and out are exceptionally well looked after. You are also only minutes away from all the wineries and fine foods the Yarra Valley has to offer. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

The interesting cottage was cosy and warm when we arrived in the evening. Had fun looking at the cosy decor and kids soon settled around the fireplace and in the large spa bath. Early morning brought many delights as we spotted bunny rabbits bouncing between the bushes, heard the call of many birds and wandered around discovering the friendly goats, sheep and birds. Great places to walk and explore beckoned the children and kept them in high spirits. We set off for a day of toboganning at Lake Mountain which is nearby as well and tired the young ones. Had some great meals in Healesville, even though the cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, (was handy for the breakfasts which are generously supplied by Wendy). There is such an assortment of parks and eating places as well as a lovely variety of shops. With a vast assortment of dvds to settle down to at night while the cosy fire burns nearby, we found it to be thoroughly relaxing and a great get away. I travelled from North Queensland and was delighted with the cooler climate. The rest of my family are from Victoria and just lapped up the relaxing atmosphere in a country setting.

We would have loved to stay at the loft for much longer than we could, the ambiance, location, scenery and amenities were perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better winter escape. Thank you!
