“Such a nice venue at a great location”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

We stayed at this property recently for a conference. I love the place! We stayed in an Ocean View Room which was very spacious, lots of luggage space, and a marvellously generous bathroom. The view from our room over the ocean was most enjoyable, and even better is the view from the dining room - an absolutely splendid sunrise over the ocean was consumed with my breakfast!
Speaking of breakfast, the buffet was quite good and very neatly laid out - in fairness, not the absolute best breakfast buffet I've ever grazed over but still a good number of tasty choices to ponder!
We joined our fellow conference delegates each night in the bar for pre-dinner drinks in a most convivial atmosphere before moving into the dining area for some great meals. On two nights of our stay we had to wait quite a while for our meals but this was offset by the enjoyment of the food once it arrived. On our final night the dining room was much quieter and the meals came out in a more timely way.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The conference proceeded smoothly, and once again the conference room was quite sizey and with splendid ocean views.
The property also contains a caravan park, cabins, and villas all thoughtfully laid out in a relaxing setting. Not too far away from the main entrance is a quite nice beach for strolling and swimming in nicer weather. There is also a nice wetlands area for strolling in where I took a ridiculous number of duck photographs, as they captivated me for quite a while.
The property is conveniently located in south Gippsland for lovely drives and connecting with other main towns of the district.
Overall, a genuinely lovely location with a marvellous property full of accommodation options, some very attentive staff to provide for all your needs, and brilliant views over the ocean from almost every place you congregate.

Dear CoolMum64

Thank you for the fantastic feedback and extensive review. We are always happy to hear that our guests have enjoyed their time at the Resort and have been well looked after by our staff. The Resort facilities and services offered cater for a wide range of guests and provide an ideal place for both leisure and business. Our new Zenith Lounge and Conference Center have received a lot of great feedback and are now attracting many conferences all year round.

Your feedback has been passed onto the food & beverage team and they are always working on developing the product offered in both Zenith Lounge and Radius restaurant. Radius is generally very popular, even during the week, and the kitchen are committed to delivering a great product. We are glad that you enjoyed the food and service.

We certainly hope to see you back at the Resort in the near future.

So close to Melbourne, great place for a few days time out. Staff were very friendly and professional, the overall feel of the resort was relaxing. Central to a lot of the gippsland attractions, just short drives.

Room Tip: The premium ocean rooms have an uninterrupted view of the sea and are part of the main complex.

Dear Janice766

Thank you for your feedback. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your relaxing short break with us at the Resort. Inverloch is only 2 hours from Melbourne and is ideal for a quick getaway. As you have mentioned the Resort is a perfect place to simply stay and be looked after by our staff, or use to explore all the local attractions.

We hope to see you again in the near future and we look forward to welcoming you back.

great resort, rooms are a great size, lots of room for storage, very clean and free wifi is a bonus. We stayed for a one night get away, and would definitely choose this resort again. The only downside we found was that there is near no control for the air conditioning and it gets quite cold in the rooms on a winter night. There are a lot of spare blankets though and I did notice housekeeping taking a heater to another room who must have found the same. It would just be a bit cosier if it was warm. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows were awesome.
I would have to say that the breakfast buffet is close to if not the best we have ever had. The range of foods from cold to hot was huge, and all well cooked. Do not miss breakfast if it is in your package.
The views from the room and the restaurant are also incredible.

Room Tip: Ocean View room 118 is right next to cleaners and service area with an automatic door that opens and...

Dear d_arkstorm1

Thank you for your review and it is fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your Ocean View room with coastal views. It is always pleasing to hear that members and guests have had great experiences at the Resort and will return again for another stay with us in the future. The control issues experienced with the heating and cooling unfortunately caused a couple of nights this week to be a little cooler than normal in a few rooms. The issue is being addressed at present. Unfortunately one of our heating units recently experienced some technical issues and is currently urgently being repaired. As you noted, we are placing extra blankets in rooms and providing additional heaters as required to ensure guests are comfortable and cosy at night. We are glad to hear that you were nice and warm and comfortable during the night.

The Housekeeping team will appreciate your perfect cleanliness rating as they work hard to keep our facilities looking in top condition. The Food & Beverage team have also been provided with your great comments regarding the breakfast buffet, to be rated as the best you have had will make the chefs very happy.

Thank you again and all the very best for the remainder of 2014.

This resort is in a fantastic location with lovely views of Bass Strait and coastline. The facilities and activities available for kids are fantastic - our kids roamed around on their bikes all day as there was so much for them to explore. There are various playgrounds, jumping pillow, footy/soccer oval, flying fox, games room and swimming pool (kids must be supervised by parents here). The grounds are beautiful and walking tracks are abundant for adults to take relaxing scenic strolls.

We stayed in a premium 2 bedroom villa, which was huge and we really appreciated the space even though we felt the design did not make the most of the available space. For example, the main bedroom was vastly oversized - why not allocate more space to a separate toilet or larger ensuite? Also, the gas log fire is centrally located in the living quarters probably for efficiency but sadly this means you cannot enjoy the ambience of the fire while seated on the sofas. Unfortunately we encountered a few large cockroaches in the kitchen and bathrooms which was a bit off-putting. FYI they advertise iPod dock in the room but this only works for old generation iPods so we could not enjoy our music.

It was very disappointing that the Radius restaurant could not accommodate our party of 6 adults and 7 kids for dinner when attempting to book 24 hours in advance. On our final morning the Zenith Lounge staff were not in attendance (at 10am on Sunday) - we had to wait 30 mins and it wasn't until prompting staff in the restaurant that anyone appeared. Once we were served, we found this lounge area was a very pleasant place to kick back and have a coffee and a chat away from the kids (although they are welcome here but obviously they prefer to play outside!). I must say that all of the staff we encountered were very well presented, courteous, informative and obliging, We felt very welcome and our kids were treated with enthusiasm and respect. All up we really enjoyed our stay - I feel guilty to mention the negative aspects but of course I shouldn't. For the price paid I think these areas really need improvement. Otherwise, if like us you can put aside the niggles, this is a truly relaxing place to holiday with the family.

Room Tip: Casurina Villas (501-506) seemed to have great views - Acacia Villas (507-510) only have a view of i...

Dear Eddicat

Thank you for your review. I am pleased you enjoyed the 2 Bedroom Premium Villa, with 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, separate living space with gas log fire, 4 split system AC units, large kitchen, and 3 TV's. As you have noted, they are large and well appointed and typically exceed our guest’s expectations. The Resort is a fantastic place for families and provides plenty of space and activity for children to keep them occupied all day............lots for the parents to enjoy also. The new Zenith Lounge has been very popular and is the perfect place to sit and enjoy watching the world pass by, so I am happy to see you agree.

Your feedback regarding the iPod dock connectivity is noted, thank you, and this will be addressed to accommodate the newer more recent models. The "cockroaches" that you have mentioned are in fact a type of bush beetle that tend to be active at this time of year and are seen from time to time around the Resort. They usually remain outside but have ventured inside at times when really wet. We have placed some information regarding these and our other wildlife at the Resort in our information guide, to assist guests understand about our local fauna and what they may see and experience during their stay with us. So you can be comfortable in the fact that all of our accommodation undergoes a detailed cleaning regime on a regular basis.

Apologies that we could not accommodate your restaurant booking for your group of 11 at the time you required. Saturday is a very popular night in the restaurant and tends to fill early, especially for the popular time periods. We usually recommend that guests book well in advance of their stay, particularly if they have a larger group so that we can ensure that we are able to look after them on the night and provide a great experience. For your next stay I would be more than happy to personally take your booking and make sure that you are accommodated on the night. Naturally I am disappointed to hear about the initial experience you encountered in Zenith Lounge on the Sunday morning and this has already been addressed by our Food & Beverage Manager. Our apologies, however our thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your family getaway with us and that you will be returning again in the future. I look forward to welcoming you back.

Definitely the place is a gem in Victoria! A road trip to a place which I've never been to or know what to expect but pleasantly surprised!

RACV resorts usually fascinates me, after my experience with RACV Torquay, I had that expectation in place and this did not disappoint! Although, there's not much of a view of the room we got since we had the Ocean View room as the Premium Ocean View rooms are all booked out. But we still had such a great time. The breakfast buffet spread is super awesome and such a wide selection too! Had an amazing time!

As weather doesn't permits us to do much the surrounding have great beaches and coastal areas to explore, but winding down staying in and relaxing was the idea for this trip.

Room Tip: Premium Ocean View rooms would be ideal!

Dear Anathyst

Thank you for posting your experience.

Gippsland and the Bass Coast area is a fantastic part of Victoria and we are glad that it was a pleasant surprise for you and that you enjoyed your time here. The Resort is a great place for a quick getaway and offers a range of accommodation to suit most needs. The Ocean View rooms provide a very comfortable hotel style room with interrupted views of the ocean and our natural surroundings. The Premium Ocean View rooms provide 180 degrees of uninterrupted ocean views and are certainly a very popular area of our accommodation.

A perfect rating in both service and cleanliness is greatly appreciated by the Resort staff and your comments regarding the breakfast buffet put a smile of the chefs face's. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Resort for another quick getaway or perhaps a long stay in the future.

Beautiful building, good room size without being large, generous bathroom, good facilities in room and generally, nice balcony, great views! Very good checkin & departure. Compared to the new RACV Torquay resort for the same price, this is however, the poor cousin. Rooms are all drab shades of brown with no uplift accents - a bit depressing. Heating not good in our room - flat out only a degree or 2 above the outside. Brrrr overnight. Apparently 'the system is getting old and has a few temperamental quirks'. (The compendium notes that additional heaters are available) Not expected at the higher end of the market of $296 or $240 for members. Lovely food for dinner - spectacular barramundi! Breakfast scrambled eggs cool and hard both mornings. Good coffee! A week before winter, I would have loved the inviting fire in the lounge to be lit - especially in the evenings. Generally very pleasant & beautiful environment. Much to like, but maybe starting to slip a little from the top end of the market.

Room Tip: The superior King View rooms (North wing) have nicer views of the ocean. Getting to the lower rooms...

Dear travellingMs

Thank you for your review after your recent stay at the Resort. It is fantastic to see that you enjoyed the facilities and experienced great service from our staff from check-in through to departure. Your comments regarding the lovely food and good coffee have been passed onto the staff and are greatly appreciated. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.

Our Ocean View rooms have been designed with a different approach to the rooms at our fantastic Torquay cousin, however we appreciate the feedback given regarding their fit-out. There are currently some improvements being made that will see the bedding changed to include doonas, white bedding, and coloured runners/cushions. This will add additional uplift to the room and added warmth at night.

We hope to see you again and look forward to welcoming you back to the Resort in the future.

This is a very comfortable spot with sensational views over the coast, spacious and comfortable rooms and a very relaxed environment. There is a discount if you are an RACV roadside member.

We stayed in one of the rooms in the main facility, but there are also separate cabins available as well

It provides great access to the nearby beaches and coastal scenery. Golf is accessible at the nearby Leongatha Golf Cub, about 20 mins away. Also pickup the local Inverloch market on a Sunday morning for some excellent local produce. Plus beach walks, plus....plus....
