“Very peaceful”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We stayed for one night in the Autumn Cottage. The cottages are very well built and decorated with attention to detail. Little things that make a difference like salt and pepper grinders, glad wrap and butter in the fridge enhanced our stay. We met the owners Anthony and Tracy who are delightful. The cottages are in town so walking distance to everything in the township. Marysville is a very tranquil pretty place and well worth a visit.

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us in Autumn cottage, we are gradually making minor adjustments on the little things to make our guests feel well supplied with nothing to worry about.
Marysville in the cooler months, make your stay feel that little bit more cosy. Hope to see you again one day, there is something new happening every day, in this town, as it rebuilds.
Kind Regards Anthony & Tracy.

My husband and I stayed here from the 25th - 27th April 2014 for our 1 year wedding anniversary. This place is very new, very pretty, very convenient (about 50 meters walk from the main shops) and very quiet, which we loved. We stayed in the Orchard room, which had a beautiful veranda surrounding it. We loved the indoor fire, which went on with the flick of a switch and created a romantic and cosy atmosphere.

The downside for me was the bath, it looked beautiful but the narrow shape meant that it wasn't really a 2 person bath, and the water wasn't overly hot, so we gave up on that which was a real shame. The room has a comfy couch, a fridge, a kettle and some utensils, all that you need for a weekend away. Each of the rooms here have a different garden theme, and the room next to us (Harvest) had little pumpkins and rhubarb growing which gave this place a really country feel, but with a modern twist.

The improvements I would suggest would be; Put in a bigger bath, put in a king size bed (which other rooms here had, just not the Orchard room) and as it had the country feel, it would have been nice to be greeted by someone (an owner) when we arrived. It felt a little impersonal to us in that sense.

Overall we would stay here again, even though it is a little on the pricy side.

Room Tip: Try and stay in a room with a king size bed and with a bigger bath if your expecting to use it with...

My husband and I stayed here in botanica cottage for three nights. It wasn't long enough. The cottages are beautiful and tastefully decorated. Marysville is a lovely little town well worth the visit and we found some nice local cafés. There is also a few eateries nearby in other towns willing to collect you and drop you back at your cottage. We will come back again one day to see the progression of growth that seems to be everywhere in this beautiful little piece of paradise. You will never want to leave your cottage but the beautiful walks beckon you to venture out and explore.

We stayed at the summer cottage for a night, and my parents stayed at the autumn cottage for two nights. Both cottages are lovely. The autumn cottage is particularly cosy. Impeccable renovation and decor. The garden is great too. The cottages are very close to the town centre. Walking distance to all the cafes (I would recommend Fraga's), restaurants, and the mini supermarket. The owner managers are friendly. This is the best holiday accommodation I have ever been to!

Just returned home from a 2 night stay at the beautiful Garden Cottages Marysville. What a gorgeous place to spend a relaxing few days. We stayed in the Botanica cottage which was superb. The gas log fire, the huge spa , the comfy king size bed, gorgeous little dining area and the well equipped kitchenette not to mention the outside porch and beautiful gardens, it was just so perfect and so clean! And just a short walk to the town centre!
It rained for the whole time we were there but that didn't dampen the time we had. Marysville is just beautiful in the misty rain, almost magical!
Anthony the owner was just a phone call away if we needed anything! Superb service. We will surely return hopefully every soon.
Thank you Anthony for a beautiful stay in Marysville.

We had a lovely stay at the Cottages over the weekend. They are comfortable, elegant and beautifully designed. So much thought has gone into every detail, from the furniture, to the kitchenette, the bathroom and the pretty floral gardens - just immaculate! The owner managers, Anthony and Tracy, are warm and welcoming. It'd be hard to find a more tranquil weekend escape from Melbourne, and Marysville - more than most tourist towns just out of Melbourne - still needs support and encouragement post-fires.

Room Tip: We stayed in Summer/Room 2. It is a beautifully appointed studio-style apartment with kitchenette an...

We stayed at Marysville Garden Cottages over the weekend and were absolutely delighted. The cottages were beautifully decorated and immaculate. We stayed in the Botanica cottage, the spa bath was huge and perfect for a soak. King size bed was wonderful and it never felt like the cottage was too small. Complimentary wine chilled in the fridge and chocolates on arrival, everything you could ask for. No cooking facilities but a microwave and toaster for breakfast and snacks. Just down the road was Elevation 423 perfect for a quick dinner. Highly recommended for a couples weekend away.
