Only stayed overnight here to catch up with friends but the short stay was enjoyable. The unit itself was very spacious, the bed very comfortable, very large ensuite, large flat screen tv, sofa plus small dining table. A cooked breakfast was in the price but was only average, nothing to be excited about. Because there isn't a lot in the area i thought it was a bit over priced.

Everything about this place is terrific: service, rooms, great food, super helpful hosts. The only very tiny negative is the location, which if you don't have a car (we were on bikes) is just that tiny bit out of walking distance to nearby venues for evenings. But the hosts are happy to drive you which is terrific, so it's hard to fault this place. Highly recommend

Room Tip: If you really want a spa, some rooms have these, not all so worth asking.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this accommodation. Our room was huge and, more importantly, clean and very comfortable, the en suite bathroom also being very spacious. We were very well provided for. Our host and hostess were very welcoming and helpful and if a breakfast can be gourmet this one certainly was. We have said Very Good rather than Excellent when rating the room only because there were no electric blankets on the beds and the shower head was a bit needle-y. Neither of these distracted from our overall enjoyment and we will certainly recommend Milawa Muscat Retreat to our friends and hope to return ourselves some day.

We stayed two nights at the Milawa Muscat Retreat B&B while visiting regional wineries. The 6 units are set side by side in 3 pairs with a shared deck or terrace. Car parking is provided next to each unit. The establishment is located 1.5 km from the Milawa township at the top of the King Valley wine region. Peter and Denise Hoppach are very friendly hosts ready to respond to any special requests. The modern spacious rooms, designed by Peter, comprise a partially partitioned sitting room and bedroom, a bathroom and a separate toilet. The king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and toilet are spacious and clean with modern fittings. There is plenty of wardrobe space for clothes if you are considering a few days' stay. Fridge, microwave, widescreen TV, air conditioning are provided. The units overlook farm land and the terrace deck makes for a very relaxing place to have a pre-dinner wine or two.

Peter and Denise were formerly at Peter's Cellar 47 restaurant in Wangaratta where Peter was the chef. On arrival you will find a couple of Peter's pastries (delicious !), a bowl of fruit and a jar of freshly ground coffee with plunger provided. Breakfast is included with a variety of cooked or continental options, including home made preserves and very good quality eggs, bacon and Peter's home made sausages. The first night we had a meal at the Milawa Gourmet Hotel, (an acceptable pub meal, but hardly warranting the 'gourmet' label). Peter will prepare dinner for you also if you give him reasonable notice and we chose this option the second night -dinner for two (a pepper steak and a generous piece of Atlantic salmon both served with vegetables) delivered to our room for $22 per head. Cooked to perfection, and with a local bottle of wine, we decided to eat in next time we stay at the Milawa Muscat Retreat.

If you are holidaying in the area, I thoroughly recommend and commend this B&B. We will return!!

Room Tip: Rooms are in pairs, each pair with a common deck/terrace -ideal if you are travelling with friends.

A quick gettaway just before New Year, and we fell on our feet. The accomodation was spotless and spacious, quiet, a real country feel, but all mod cons and wonderful hosts A bonus was when Peter cooked for us one evening, a true delight. A wonderful area with plenty to do, the local produce and scenery were amazing. Would definately stay there again, and recommend to all my friends.

We just completed our first stay at the Milawa Muscat Retreat and you can be sure it will not be out last. Rooms are clean comfortable with lots of space. Peter and Denise are wonderful hosts and Peter is full of information are the area as well as a marvelous chef. Breakfast was wonderful with homemade sausage. Quiet rural setting but close to many attractions in this area. We only stayed 2 days and you need several more to see the area.

Room Tip: Won't disappoint.
