“Great location.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

Arrived with another couple for weekend winery tripping. Room was spacious and doors opening to balcony let fresh air in. Bathroom needs good scrub and shower water flooded under door. Management assured we could mop up with extra towels provided. Dinner was exceptional and chefs did a fine job. All courses for all four adults were excellent. Breakfast was below par and clearly a different chef in charge. Fatty undercooked bacon, sloppy scrambled eggs, tinned fruit when freshly stewed could be provided. Variety and quality of food clearly lacking. For high rating establishment, breakfast was under par. Facilities are conducive to relaxing with two comfortable internal lounges available and an external courtyard providing views of surrounding grapevines. Well situated for winery, bakery and cheese factory visits in both Milewa and Rutherglen. We booked with a well priced voucher deal, however at a full priced room rate, we would probably not return to Lindenwarrah.

Room Tip: Facing Brown Brothers Vineyard best on first floor.

Unfortunately we only stayed one night, from check in to check out the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our view from our bedroom reminded us of our stay in Italy overlooking the vineyard. Brown Brothers across the road was a very convenient stopover. We slept like babies with our door opened letting the night air in.

We stayed at Lindenwarrah for a couple of nights, including our wedding anniversary. The king-sized bed was very, very comfortable, and we slept the sleep of the innocents on both nights. Being vintage time, we did hear the occasional large truck arriving at Brown Brothers winery across the road as they delivered their loads of freshly-harvested grapes, but it really wasn't a huge hassle. Breakfast was a full buffet, choice of "Continental" or cooked dishes, and the hot food was hot. The general ambiance of the place is more like that of a medium-sized hotel than a standard motel. The only two gripes we had were (a), there is no lift, so we had to struggle up the stairs with our suitcases, and (b) the shower cubicle door does not stop the shower from flooding the bathroom floor. Some areas of carpet, especially on the stairs, are quite threadbare. Having said all that, we would definitely go again when they are running a "promo" like they did this week.

Room Tip: Try for a ground-floor room, unless you feel like climbing stairs to your room, on the side away fro...

What a pleasant surprise after reading some of the 'poor feedback' on Tripadvisor. Professionally greeted at reception. Room surprisingly spacious although looking out over the road rather than the vineyard!

The pool area & swimming pool are well maintained & it was lovely sitting around there when the weather was warm on Saturday.

Wonderful evening meal in their restaurant Merlot08 with fabulous local wines & fresh locally sourced produce. Exceptional service from the wait staff. This continued on to our two breakfasts on Saturday & Sunday with lovely fresh, nicely presented food.

Exceptionally presented food & always well topped up with no requests that food needed to be replenished.

Possibly the only downside would be - where do you put your 'stuff' when you are in the shower? There was no ledge or place to rest soap, shampoo, face wash etc. just a very small metal lip where everything kept falling off. We also noticed that there was more water on the outside of the shower floor than on the inside as the water tended to leak under the shower door & the bath mat was sodden when you got out!

I also think that an armchair or some comfortable chair arrangment would be a great addition to the rooms. The size of the rooms could certainly accommodate another form of seating!

All in all we had a wonderful weekend away & thoroughly enjoyed the lovely countryside of Milawa & surrounds.

Room Tip: Our room whilst being on the ground floor, as requested was just fine. Not noisy & very comforta...

My husband and l with another couple have just spent a very relaxing 3 days and 2 nights at Lindenwarrah. We found our rooms to be clean and comfortable. We had the Sunset rooms with great views of the vineyards and walking distance to Brown Bro Winery. The Staff were friendly and went out of their way with everything. A big thanks to Grace who was working over our stay, her smile was contagious and nothing was too much effort.

We were looking foward to our stay as the kids had given the stay as a present. We had read it up in Paddock to Plate and were thinking this should be a good experience! On arrival the staff were friendly and pointed us to our room. Entering the room we noticed a considerable amount of marks on the carpet and wondered whether we were in the footy trip room. We decided we would have a drink in our room after a long trip, however there is a office chair and a bench couch a cat may find comfortable so we lay on the bed, some comfy chairs may be a good idea. the bath room there was no soap holder in the shower and the tiles were mouldy. Dinner we were expecting a treat of local produce fresh and interesting. We counted 20 in the dinnig room and they had run out of chicken?? we noticed a free range chicken farm not far up the road. The fish was Barrmundi not as local as the trout farm also just up the road so we were dissapointed. The brains lacking brains however the pear was well done with it,steak high light the onion rings. Barramundi ok. Sweats were made by the same person that made the tumeric dressing as the flavour had carried through into the brittle.Slept fairly well. Breakfast they must make there fruit salad on a sunday unfortunately we were there on a thursday the strawberries mush and the Kiwi fruit that dehydrated it was disgraceful. Good points wine list was good however you could'nt purchase any Lindenwarrah local drop, the staff were accommadating and let us off the credit card extra % when I told them I would'nt pay it any way. I really think if Lindenwarrah consider them as a class act they should have a realistic look at what they offer and do some much needed renovations and internal adjustments. The bones are good however that's where in stops

Room Tip: A room on the east side really look further a field

We were very excited to come to this amazing part of Victoria. The rooms here are large and spacious however tired and need maintenance, there is no day spa despite one being advertised, rooms lack noise insulation so are noisy. There were 2 weddings on during our stay, which we were not disclosed to us, meant that we could not access the restaurant or bar, and drowned the property with noise until well after 12.
