Description: Open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, and Friday nights for dinner & banquets, Cafe Fez presents a unique atmosphere - a treasure trove of twinkling Moroccan lanterns, silver teapots and colourful woven cushions. Featuring a traditional menu of Middle-Eastern favourites, a 100 mile wine list, frou-frou fruit sodas and a quixotic array of cocktails, this chilled out little gem is the perfect place to relax with a group or snuggle up to a beau (or belle) in one of the low-slung cushioned booths. A dining experience is as much about theatre as it is about food: Moroccan mint tea arrives on a silver tray and a waitress pours it into an ornate tea glass three times to infuse it. Sitting at Café Fez under the twinkling of coloured glass lanterns with steam curling luxuriously from your tea amid the shelves of spices, you are transported momentarily to Safi or Fez. The brilliant thing is that here you don't need a plane ticket.

Wow. Fantastic food and great prices. Stuffed capsicum with home made flat bread just delicious. All the food looked amazing that others were having. What a gem.

“Something out of the ordinary.”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

If you want a meal away from your standard offerings, try Café Fez. Very Middle Eastern. Even the Cafe's surroundings is something to see. When you've finished, you can browse the shop for very unusual Asian décor.

“Morocan feast”

Last Friday was Tagine night - Choose a banquet of Tagines from the menu and enjoy. The service was the usual friendly and effective with a smile. Normally Cafe style with light meals

“Unusual setting & not your usual cafe fare”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We had lunch here and were pleasantly surprised at the middle eastern offerings - so nice to find a lunch menu which is not just pressed sandwiches (esp sick of the roast veg and pesto mostly offered for us poor vegetarians) The young man taking orders was very professional and helpful. The cafe was attached to an extraordinarily large 'bazaar' which alone took up considerable browsing time - though I suspect very little moves in this space. I ordered the mezze platter which was generous and very tasty - it was a little disappointing to find the bread was just packet pitta bread warmed and cut up. (I realise it might be a big ask to bake your own genuine middle eastern style bread) but surely there is a more genuine product available??

“Middle Eastern stunner.”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

The food here is truly delightful and as other patrons have noted the menu favours Middle Eastern ingredients with a twist; such as chilli chorizo and prawn tajine with Lebanese bread, or Southern Fried Chicken with a light coating of Moroccan spices, served with tzatziki and fresh lemon. The service is also friendly and helpful and well paced. We shared grilled haloumi as an appetiser and followed this with the soup of the day which was hearty and outstandingly tasty: a chicken and lemon broth with chicken meat balls and king cous cous. Apparently the bottles of locally made Frou Frou, fruit cordial are also worth a try and I have been told by a local that these are wonderfully refreshing served with ice and soda water.
