“Waterfront cabin very good - caravan park itself looks shabby.”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We stayed a night in one of the very good waterfront cabins which overlook the quays waterway. This was very modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a deck at the front which was a great place for a drink or our breakfast in the morning. We had the far end unit which gave added privacy.

Unfortunately the entrance to the park is not overly attractive nor is the drive through the park passing permanent and rather shabby caravans and annexes which is a shame and detracts from what is otherwise very good accommodation.

Stayed at this caravan park for three nights. I could only get a standard cabin which was ok but quite grubby, with a dirty fridge and bbq.
The park has a large number of permanent vans, small pool, small area for camping and vans. But there is an up side with the park also having 7 very modern cabins on the canal, and boat parking area and storage.
This park was very busy on the weekend with people and boats of all types.
If you have a boat and want access to the lakes then this is a good park, but if you are a family on holiday find another more suitable park.

We stayed here for four nights recently as a family of four.
We booked at the last minute and were pleasantly surprised as we didn't know what to expect.
The park is in a very convenient location, and the waterfront cabin we stayed in was very spacious and clean. Cabin sleeps 5ppl max- bedrooms a bit tight for space and mattresses not very comfy, but these are minor complaints, especially when you consider the price and the positives.
The park itself looks a little tired, but it was off season so very quiet. we didn't check out the amenities, but laundry was clean and did the job- cheaper compared to other caravan parks. Pool not that clean and games room locked. Toddler pool cemented over. Not much for older children to do but we spent most of our time out and about anyway.
We found the staff pleasant and friendly, no complaints at all.
Love the area, will be back for sure.

Room Tip: Make sure you pick a waterfront cabin- not sure about the other smaller non- waterfront cabins, but...

Stayed here for two nights with friends with an site van - very relaxing. Walked across the road to the yacht club for dinner (this is the closest place), and had a BBQ on site. Facilities were good - very family oriented. Showers were hot, plenty of water, and CLEAN. Basic stuff at the kiosk at reception - morning papers and basic food. A quick drive to the main street. Very peaceful, wander round the back to the moorings at sunset - its very pretty.
