I recently stayed at St Claire Country House with two friends and we booked exclusive use of the three bedroom guest house.
We were blown away by the incredible interiors when we first walked into the house. No detail had been forgotten and it was truly a luxurious
place to call home for the next two nights.
The style was French Colonial but there was no doubt we were in Australia as we were greeted by a family of kangaroos hopping around the back garden.
Delicious pastries were provided for breakfast and the owners, Ann Marie and Neville, went out of their way to ensure we were warm and comfortable.
The location is about 25 minute drive from Daylesford. Just be aware that mobile phone reception can be patchy with some providers (generally okay with Telstra though).
A fantastic spot for a girls weekend, especially if taking a visit to nearby Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa.
We booked in for a girls night in at St Claire Country House, staying in the luxurious guest house and were we just in awe of the place all day and night. Every room is as immaculate as the next. One night was not enough to enjoy the grounds and the rooms. I would recommend this place for any special occasion; special birthday, anniversary, couples getaway, girls weekend. There was not a single thing these guys could improve on. They have literally thought of everything from the open fire to the breakfast danishes and yogurt for breakfast. The pictures below speak for themselves. We will be back! Also you will be dealing with the friendliest people when you book.
We stayed here for 2 nights as a group of 3 couples and had a fantastic time. Our hosts were charming and attentive. The rooms were delightful and we felt as if we were staying in a French country Mansion. Highly recommended for all those who want to get away to peace and tranquility surrounded by understated French ambiance. Although it was the start of winter when we stayed we will be back in Summer as the gardens look amazing.
Ian and I had a lovely stay at St Claire Country House recently. We enjoyed the countryside, the open fire in the Guest House lounge and the beautiful interiors throughout. We read and relaxed, went for walks, saw the waterfall and enjoyed eating in the gastro pubs and cafes. I love gardening so we visited The garden of Erth too. I highly recommend St Claire to others.
Our stay in the Guest House at St Claire Country House with our friends was great. The décor is stunning, the rooms are large and everything is really comfortable for a group. We enjoyed the garden and the really peaceful countryside around us. Trentham village is only five minutes away. We had a delicious lunch in one of the cafes and a really tasty dinner in one of the gastro pubs there. Fun was had having a look through the shops in Piper Street Kyneton, Woodend and Daylesford. We also went on some great walks around Trentham and Daylesford. There is more to explore. We will definitely be back!
Really enjoyed our stay in the Yellow Room at St Claire Country House. A very high attention to detail in every aspect, very comfortable & peaceful. There's plenty to do in nearbyTrentham (5 mins drive away) & easy walk to nearby Pig & Whistle Pub for casual meal. Beautiful place to just relax & read in lovely surroundings.
The St Clare owners have spared nothing to make their guests stay enjoyable and are welcoming and very helpful. All fittings are top quality. Each room has designer Guild wallpapers and curtains making for a light, bright light-filled ambience especially in the living/kitchen area. The spacious verandahs allow for quiet reading spaces or places for a group to gather.
There are plenty of activities including playing golf, exploring the local towns and gardens and spending time in Trentham. A charming small town with the famous Annie Smithers restaurant, the Red beard Bakery, numerous eateries, dress shops and and an artisan kitchenware shop.
