The Yackandandah Bakery was the logical place to stop-off for morning tea after a walk up and down the main street checking out the quant and sometimes curious local shops. We opted for an apple slice for her and a vanilla slice for me, served with a hot and strong coffee. Both cakes were bakery fresh and tasty. My vanilla slice, while not the biggest I have purchased in a country bakery, was made with fresh vanilla custard that melted in your mouth. The bakery had a pleasant ambience with boothed seating that added to an old-world charm. Whilst some of Yackandandah's buildings are looking a little tired on the outside, you need to take the time take in some of their 'inner charm' such as that which is offered at the Bakery.
