“A Woman Ahead of Her Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

This tour was surprisingly different from the usual "Southern Plantation" although it is also a pre-Civil War mansion. Belmont Mansion is situated in the middle of Belmont College and incorporates the old with the new. The mansion itself is renovated as donations allow but that does not take away from the charm of the building. In fact, the way the intended changes are displayed provides a visual of the changes the mansion has incurred through the years. Although the building, it's furnishings and the grounds are beautiful, the more interesting part of the tour was learning about the original owner, Adelicia Acklen. She was truly a woman ahead of her time. If she were alive today she would be the CEO of a large corporation. Well worth the visit!

“Wealthiest Woman”

What a great museum. The tour was very informative. We learned so much more than we had read in
Our tour book. You may park in their lot, but get a pass to put in your car window. Go close to the Pancake Pantry for great pancakes too

“What a gem - and a great tour guide”

We visited Belmont on a rainy Nashville day and we are so glad we did. A entertaining tour conducted by Tyler who clearly knows his stuff. If you are in Music City then don't miss it!

“Fascinating!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014 via mobile

Great tour of an interesting home and story. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable and was able to provide a ton of history about the home, the family, and the Nashville area at that period of time. We enjoyed this more than the Belle Meade plantation tour and it seems a lot more off the beaten path (far more intimate tour with less people). We would definitely recommend!

“Great find in Nashville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

I visit the Nashville area every year to see family and had never been to Belmont Mansion. What a fantastic find! A really lovely historic house and well worth a visit. The staff could not have been more hlepful towards my disabled parents, the guide was really informative and knew his stuff. Restoration of the house is taking place and I look forward to paying another visit to the property.
