Magical night at the Ryman 4/8/18 seeing Gatlin Brothers and Ricky Scaggs. Backstage tour is a must!

An amazing look at Nashville music and how so many others were a part of the Ryman! So happy they saved this beautiful building and piece of history!

What a treasure. Thank goodness it was not razed but saved.
The film at the beginning of the tour is very well done and provides an excellent historical account of the Ryman. Beautiful theatre and the scene of so many fantastic acts. Thanks for saving this part of history.

The Ryman Auditorium is the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. Built over 100 years ago this is a beautiful building and a piece of American music history. You can purchase a general admission ticket or a guided tour admission --- I would advise spending the extra $10 for the guided tour. The tour guide, Nathan, was informative and friendly, and told the story of the theater. We got to see the backstage area, including the dressing rooms and other features of the theater, which was fascinating, even thought I am not knowledgeable about country or bluegrass music. The Grand Ole Opry moved out a while ago but there are modern musical and entertainment acts that fill the theater several nights a week. After the guided tour there is a 10 minute video as well as 100s of photographs and artifacts worth exploring. We spent about an hour on the tour and another hour exploring the theater and photos. Even my early teenage kids, with no prior knowledge or interest in the musical genre that was part of the Ryman's history, thought this was interesting. I highly recommend visiting The Ryman when you are in downtown Nashville.
