“Lively Place”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

This district is a unique area of Nashville. There were great restaurants to choose from and some had live bands. There were shops to explore. My family and I were there during the day and it was pretty lively. I bet at night it would be a great place to go out on a date or with friends. This area was more geared for adults and not for children. Also the area gets busy fast so if you don't like crowds stay far from this place! It was nice to stroll down the district and hear the music playing.

“Party place in downtown Nashville!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

If you want a little bit of everything all in one place, go to the district. Almost every bar has live music, GOOD live music. Everything is within a 5 minute walk. The district is made of primarily one street, about 6 blocks long, both sides of the street crammed with attractions. Restaurants. Ice cream joint. Candy store. Boots. You get the picture. We went for the live music and were very happy with all the options, all day & night. This is a party place, not really for kids.

“Great Date Night Location”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

We had a great time when my husband and I headed down to The District for our night out. We went to Jack's BBQ which was a great value. Be sure to head out to the patio so you can enjoy live music from the neighboring bars. Afterwards, we enjoyed popping in and out of the local shops. Topped off the night at WannaB's to enjoy some drinks and awesome (and hilarious) karaoke entertainment. Overall, our trip was well worth the parking fees and crowded streets.

“The heart of Music City”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

What an experience - both day and night music pours out of every bar and honky tonk along The District. The crowd is definitely more rowdy at night. I thought Tootsies Orchid Lounge was way too crowded (wall to wall people) and grungie, but there were two really good bands playing. It was hard to enjoy worrying that we'd die if a fire broke out. Jimmy Buffets bar was more civilized and had a great band too. We stopped in a few other bars or stood on the sidewalk to hear the bands playing in the open windows. There was a great dueling piano bar, the only place with a cover charge, but it was worth it. There were 4 different guys who switched off. They were all talented and able to play just about anything the guests asked for. You can't go to Nashville without going to The District. It's a really unique experience.

“Wish we allotted more time”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

Between the shops, restaurants, museums, and honky-tonks we didn't get to do everything we had wanted to. The most fun was just going in and out of honky-tonks and listening to a lot of different artist/songwriters day or night. They do work off tips so keep a few dollars handy. The Ryman, TN capital buiding & Country Music Hall of Fame is all in this area. We parked at the Library at 6th and commerce st. It cost us $5 for all day.
