“The best hotel I've EVER been to!”
Reviewed 3 September 2011

We were traveling through Nashville in July - really only in the city for about 24 hours - but I wanted to stay in an authentic Nashville Hotel. We ended up booking at the Hermitage and frankly I was just kind of expecting a really nice, old hotel in the city. Well - it was all of those things - it was REALLY nice - actually beautiful. The lobby was a work of art. And the rooms were HUGE. It's really hard to justify in words - but everything about the rooms went above and beyond. It was very historic and old but kept up emmaculately. They had books in the room which shared the history of the Hermitage and were erally neat to flip through. The location was also great. Our room had a view of the capital building and we walked down to Broadway which has all the bars and stuff. So all of these things exceeded my expectations.

But what really made this SUCH a special experience was the staff. When we rolled into town we had just completed a week long RV trip and were just staying for the night before flying out the next evening. My point being that we arrived in a taxi WAY underdressed for a place like this. But the staff were SO friendly and helpful - especially the guys at the door. And not in a "I get paid to be friendly and helpful so I have to be" kind of way. It was very genuine. Every time we arrived and left their friendliness was exceptional. They gave us advice on where to go to dinner - helped us with luggage - all of which I realize are common - but it was their attitude that made it exceptional. And this was during several different shifts - so not just the same 2 guys. Our stay here ended a week long trip perfectly and we still talk about how much we liked it! I would highly recommend to anyone.

p.s. The rooms are so big that if you are traveling with kids you will have PLENTY of space to spread out. My kids favorite part of the hotel? tv's in the bathroom... :)

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the capital

Very special hotel with exceptional staff. We unfortunately were only in our room briefly as we were moving our daughter into college. This is a place you want to visit for a celebration! Everything about it is lovely!!!

Aren't many "luxury" hotels in Nashville to choose from - the Hermitage is a very nice city hotel with a great lobby and nice service. location is convenient with close proximity to the district.

From arrival to departure this was a perfect hotel. Courteous and helpful staff with a sense of humour, great in-house dining and good rooms. The hotel is a grand, visual feast, the lobby is breath-taking. For location it’s perfect, not right in the middle so nice and quiet, yet only a short walk to Music Row, Nashville Museum, Honky Tonk bars and the Bridgestone Arena. Price-wise it's at the upper-end for Nashville, but if you want to spoil yourself, this is the place to stay.

Stayed one night while visiting family & college friend. Impeccable service & attention to detail. The valet & doorman were so helpful, it actually made my husband nervous! When asked if we needed help with our bags, he said "just give me one of those shiny luggage carts & I'll be good." The doorman replied, "those shiny carts come with us". Just had to laugh! We are not used to such courteous service. They held our luggage for us as we arrived several hours prior to check-in. Waited in the comfortable & cozy Oak Bar (children welcomed thankfully!) & checked out the area via foot. Plenty of shopping, restaurants & sight-seeing within walking distance. The babysitting service was a godsend allowing us to take in the nightlife! We didn't have our dogs, but they appear to be very pet-friendly, judging by services offered. Beautiful, spacious room & gorgeous, enormous bathroom. Worth every penny! Only wish we could have stayed longer!

My son was married on 8/13 and I booked he and his bride a room at the Hermitage Hotel for their wedding night. This is the perfect hotel. The lobby is spectacular with its stained glass ceiling and ornamentation of a bygone era. Elegance at its best. The door man in his top hat and tails sets the mood. When they arrived they were upgraded from a Junior Suite to a full one bedroom suite which was a very nice surprise! The suite had views of the Tennessee State Capital. The accommodations were lovely and the gift of champagne and chocolates was over the top. The Bride and Groom felt very special on a very special day.
This hotel is not just for newly weds. It is for anyone who wants a fabulous hotel with superior service and a staff who thinks of everything.....
