“Sexy and Unique, a great change from your normal hotels”
Reviewed 11 August 2009

My husband and I stayed at The Preston for our vacation in Nashville. The hotel itself is a little older but in great condition. It is very unique and sexy with lots of red and beautiful art work. I have never had a friendlier or more helpful staff. The maintaince man Carrie helped us with our luggage because there was no one else available, and John at the front desk was extremely helpful. We loved it and will be back.

Since we were just passing through Nashville and needed an inexpensive one-night stay, the Hotel Preston fit the bill. We booked through Priceline and got a very good deal. The hotel was nice enough. Very interesting lobby. We arrived late but had called in advance about this. Staff at both check-in and check-out were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms (we had reserved 2) were nice enough, clean, no frills. We did not hear any planes until around 6am. Since we were planning to leave Nashville fairly early, this was not an issue for us.

We stayed one night at Hotel Preston.
PROS: Nice bed with soft sheets, very polite staff, decent price, close to the highways that take you through Nashville.
CONS: Carpeting is ugly and outdated, stairways smelled like cigarettes, 1 of 2 elevators wasn't working, the area around the hotel is trashy and our vehicle was vandalized by some kind of paint marker.
Spend the extra money and stay somewhere nicer.

Dear Garthman23,

Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed the central location, comfortable beds, and polite staff of our facility. Our hotel is newly remodeled and the carpet design is certainly something different than your typical branded hotel. Our interior designer won an IN Award from the International Interior Design Association for the work on our boutique hotel. I am pleased you found our hotel a good value for the price and we look forward to having you back as our guest again soon.

Best Regards,

Chad Armistead

My colleague and I stayed at the Hotel Preston for two nights while in town for an event. We booked through Priceline and got an excellent rate. The hotel is in a wonderful location for those wishing to visit Nashville's major attractions. Located just off the highway, the hotel is an easy 10 minute drive to downtown and about 15 minutes to Opryland. It is also close to other attractions like the zoo and some of the historic sites. Parking is free which is a nice bonus given that many of the hotels downtown charge a daily rate. The hotel staff were pleasant though not overly friendly. Our room was clean and a good size. As others have commented the hotel makes an effort to be more funky in decor - for the most part it works. Like many hotels you could hear some noise from surrounding rooms but nothing too disruptive. The bathroom was tidy and had a small selection of Aveda products; nothing fancy but the bathroom met all of our needs. Other features are the cafe (okay food) and a small outdoor pool. If you are looking for a four star, white gloved experience the Hotel Preston is not for you. If you are looking for a comfortable hotel in a central location for a good value, then I recommend trying it. We had a nice stay with no complaints.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights this weekend. It was everything I thought it would be from looking at the photos online and reading most of the reviews. The room had a comfortable yet romantic vibe to it. The bed was a little firmer than I like, but overall I was very pleased with our stay. I loved the decor and the contemporary vibe of the hotel. It was something different from the usual chain hotels but still at a reasonable price. When we got there the TV in our room did not have a clear picture...it was repaired immediately once we brought it the attention of the staff. The room & bathroom were very clean. The staff was friendly and eager to assist guests. I didn't even notice the planes at the nearby airport. However, if you are sensitive to sounds and wake easily its probably best to stay at a hotel that isn't as close to the airport rather than posting a negative review about the noise. :) We will definitely be returning for another weekend get away!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed there for three days. Staff was friendly. Room was nice. Room service food wasn't that great. We ordered a $26 pizza, threw it in the garbage and called Pizza Hut to have one delivered. The airport is next to the hotel so ask for a room on the opposite side if you are a light sleeper like I am.

I stayed for only one night and didn't take advantage of the extras that were offered, but I thoroughly my stay. The room was very clean with tons of space and a big closet. It felt more like a studio apartment than a hotel room (we were in a corner room on the 8th floor). The warm colors in the decor made for a more romantic environment, and the bathroom was very nice as well. It had a granite countertop with warm, flattering indirect lighting. If you want a date night spot, I think it's a good one. All it needed were the flowers by the bed that were in the photo on their website!
My only negative comment regards noise level. Not constantly, but occasionally you could hear when neighbors had their tv up really loud in the morning and when they walked down the hall outside your door. Other than that, it was great.
