I traveled to the Hotel Preston for a ministry conference. The facility was superior, with ceilings high enough that pollution of other attendees rose beyond the seats. The air conditioner was working quietly enough that I could hear the speakers without distraction.
The front desk staff was exceptional, for their friendliness and helpfulness. This is one of the few times I have contacted an hotel after staying to compliment the staff. One person gave us his card and encouraged us to call if we got lost on the route to the restaurant he recommended. Both cars did get lost, and did call him, and he was so very gracious. Another person gave us directions to another restaurant, that turned out to be the best of 2009 - a superb meal was enjoyed and he had known it was very close to our evening activity, although some distance from the hotel. They furnished refrigerators and microwaves to our rooms, until they ran out. They went to extreme service to deal with allergies and sensitivities.

We pulled in at midnight and were very tired as a family of seven. The staff was so nice came out got our bags and had a very quick check in. They have a very modern yet luxurious decor. The elevators have fur on the walls. My children loved this. The rooms had all white linens with super big pillows. Everything was neat and very clean. I loved the Aveda products in the bathroom. We all slept like babies. I would visit this hotel again on my next vacation.

I don't know the details of the renovation that led to the Hotel Preston, but it surely began with an impressive vision. It ended, however, with a sudden blindness. Amid the unfinished details you can see a stylish hotel yearning to be unleashed. Maybe the budget just wasn't there.

Pros: Good value. Comfy bed. Great views.

Cons: Stale, musty smells. Dark dirty hallways. Old, loud air conditioners with covers falling off. Thin walls. Uneven popcorn ceilings. Room service stops at 10. Nickel and dime internet fee.

All in all the stay was underwhelming. Unless the owners sink some renovation cash in the place to finish the job, I think I will pass next time. You can do better for your money in Music City.

We purchased one night at the Hotel Preston using Hotwire. We were looking for clean, comfortable, convenient accomodations at a great value. The Hotel Preston exceeded our expectations. This is a boutique hotel one exit from the airport and about a 15 min drive to downtown Nashville. The hotel has a restaurant and a lounge. Hotel staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. There was a live jazz set in the lounge Friday night. There are several restaurants one block south and also several exits north on Brylie Parkway. I would definitely stay here again as other hotels in Nashville are very expensive in our opinion. We are typically pretty leerie of the non major chain hotels but we took a chance on the Hotel Preston and it paid off.

I booked this hotel online directly with the hotel for a bargain rate of just over 90 dollars plus tax per night. My remit was to find a hotel conveniently located for ease of driving access to the airport, to Antioch and to the main sights of Nashville.

It fit the bill perfectly, the room was one of the higher level ones within the building (which doesn't look very inspiring from the outside) and it was a quality spec, especially considering the price. The bed was comfy, the a/c worked well and the welcome was warm and friendly. The Preston Hotel was a pleasant surprise, and with all the art and bold colouring, definitely a refreshing change from the usual corporate hotels frequented.

I would be happy to return if in the area.

I got this hotel with a bid on Priceline, and paid a little more than half the going rate for the night. For this money, I LOVED this hotel! It was clean, our shower had great water pressure, it was quirky and a little different, the beds were good (not great, but good) and the staff we dealt with were very nice. That being said, there was something odd about the fact that the hotel lobby, and sometimes the hallways DO smell like smoke, although I never saw anyone smoking. Our room did not have any odor at all. The lights in the elevator would just randomly light up, so you have no indication of where you were. It was just little things like those that prevent the Hotel Preston from taking it to the next level.

The location was very convenient, right off the highway with easy access to the two completely different areas of Nashville we needed to visit. I liked it, and if I get it again on Priceline, I would not be disappointed. Would I pay $140 for it? No, and that may explain some of the negative comments here.
