Things I liked about the tour: Mohawk Steve the tour guide! We were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted of everything! We were not rushed. Lots of cool rooms inside to explore!

This was a great way to kill 90 minutes before heading out of town. I got a lot out of it including some of the history of Alabama, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich. If you like touring big original homes, Alabama, or Muzik Maffia then you should check it out.
Also, the tour guides are musicians too and they play music for you during the tour if you ask.

The Fontanel Mansion was built by Barbara Mandrell and her husband Ken in 1987/88. It's a 27K Sq Ft. log home in the middle of a forrest.
Touring the home was fun for those of us who like to see how the "rich and famous" live.
Our tour guide, Jennifer had such a down home southern charm and she had a beautiful voice. All tours include a short musical performance by one or two of the guides.
The log home is in a pristine forest setting. While some of the furnishings are dated, most are original even though the home was sold to two music moguls in 1997. Since then Barbara's daughter has brought back most of the original furnishings and everyone is welcomed to sit on and touch almost everything in the house.
It was truly a treat!

The Fontanel Mansion was beautiful. My kids and I enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide Chris did a great job and he has a beautiful voice. We might have to come back for Zip-lining!

We were really excited to see Fontanel and were very disappointed by the omission of the kitchen on the tour and the trashy pictures of Gretchen Wilson flipping off the camera and big n rich in a picture using a urinal showing half their butts. It didn't come across as an elegant home it shows as something that used to be nice and now is a tourist trap to make $24 a person.
