“Even good if you don't go to Vanderbilt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2011

We just returned from a long weekend in Nashville. We chose this hotel based on price and location. We knew we had a car so decided that we did not need to spend double to stay downtown. We made the right choice. This hotel is only a 5 minute ride to downtown! There are restaurants that are around the hotel but you are better served to dine downtown. Since I always like the "pros and cons" reviews, I will do my best on this review.

Pros:
-Beds are real comfortable
-Rooms are well sized
-The room has a small fridge (bonus!)
-Only a 5 minute drive to downtown (I already mentioned that but needed to repeat it)
-Very nice staff (including Valet, Desk, and Bartender)
-Easy access to the freeway and airport (hint: fill up your tank prior to returning your car here. It will still show full at the rental return)
-Starbucks located right outside the front door

Cons:
-the sink drain sounded like it had a clog in it. We mentioned this to Housekeeping after our first night bt it continued throughout our stay (Room 637)
-Valet Parking was $24 per night. It sounds a bit steep but name another hotel valet in a big city that doesn't charge in the $20's for valet
-the "city" view is not much to look at. Ask for a stadiumview even during off season.
-Some spoke about the internet charge, but we did not use it at all (who brings their computers on vacation????). We only used our smart phones.

I hope you enjoy this hotel as much as my wife and I did. Check for my reviews on a few of the restaurants and attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Stadium

We stayed at this hotel on our night out and was shuttled over to the Ryman in the hotels Tahoe SUV. Which was nice to not have to worry about driving down town and parking.

We at the the bar before we left for the show and I was a little disappointed that the restaurant was closed - even though they had a full menu available - eating in the bar was not where I wanted to eat dinner. The waitress was super nice and provided all that we needed.

With it being the holidays - it was beautifully decorated. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was a super nice size and CLEAN. As we looked out our window we had a full view of the Vandy football field which would be fun to stay and watch a game.

The parking was a little odd and cost $25 dollars for the night.

We recently were touring the Vanderbilt campus and chose to stay at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt and I am so glad that we did! The location was perfect and even overlooks the football stadium. The staff was so friendly and really made us feel welcomed, southern hospitality at its finest. They were very helpful in making recommendations on places to see while we were in town and the shuttle driver made sure we got right were we wanted to go and gave us some great tips about downtown. Looks like we will be staying here for several years to come.

My husband's company had a dinner party here, however it happened to be the same night as our wedding anniversary. He made reservations for us to stay the night. The party was fun and our dinner was fantastic, the chef and his team are top notch! After the party, we ordered chocolate covered strawberries and champagne to be delivered to our room; room service was quick and the strawberries were perfect. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet, again great food. Even though we live in town, this was the perfect getaway; beautiful hotel, clean rooms and great food.

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel this past week. It was sparkling clean, quiet, the food in the dining room was delicious and the dining room staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. But by far, the front desk clerk named Kally was spectacular! One evening she even found an empty ballroom for my daughter to rehearse her violin audition material in, and then wished her good luck on our way out of the door the next day! Whatever we needed, they attended to immediately and happily. We will be staying here everytime we visit Vanderbilt. Thank you so much!

Room Tip: Just ask! They were very ready to help us with any request. Our view of the stadium was terrific!

Our family recently stayed at the Marriott at Vanderbilt. The staff was so welcoming when we checked in and were very accommodating to our special needs. It is a beautiful property and everything was very clean. We ate dinner there one night and the food was fantastic! We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Nashville.

Pros- location location location !!!
Basic room, nothing special.. The beds are very comfortable, the hotel bar was nice

Cons- location, when I stayed, there was a Vanderbilt game, some streets were blocked off, there was also a hugeeee frat party!!! The music was soo loud!! Cars every where. The front desk, is alittle snotty; not very helpful

Huge con- everything is extra, the internet is 10$$ the parking is 24$$$ I'm a reward member and asked for robes and extra towels, they would not accommodate me...

I don't think I'll stay here again
