Took a day trip to see The Hermitage and decided to take a trip back in time...it was amazing to here how things were and learn a little about the history of where we are living. It was perfect for my little ones as it was hot and they wouldn’t have wanted to walk through everything.

Thank you all so much for such a wonderful experience!

The wagon ride at the Hermitage was the highlight of our trip! The driver was funny, knowledgeable, and did an amazing job of bringing history to life. Dolly and Molly (the horses) did their part too, but the driver awesome -- I can't say enough about his narrative. This was well worth the additional fee ($11) and I'm glad we arrived early enough to get a seat since I'm told it sells out most days.

This was, by far, my favorite part of our trip to Nashville. Our driver, Craig, was knowledgeable, gracious, and engaging. In many ways, we learned more from the carriage ride than from the tour of the home. It may sound silly, but I truly appreciated how Craig referred to General Jackson's slaves as enslaved people. He was sensitive while discussing a touchy subject. If you do nothing else in Nashville, do this.

This is something that you must do when visiting the Hermitage. Craig, our driver and tour guide, was excellent in his delivery, amusing, and he was full of excellent information. The carriage ride was delightful and we were able to really get a feel for what life was like back in the 1800's.

I highly recommend the wagon tour at the Hermitage. The tour adds stories to a visit through the former plantation. Go early, it fills up.

My teenage daughter and I visited Andrew Jackson's Hermitage in Nashville, TN. We opted to take the Carriage ride while there. This was a great addition to our visit! Our carriage guide provided wonderful insight into the daily life of the residents. My daughter had always been taught that General Jackson was the "People's President". She really enjoyed touring the property and learning more about him.

Incredible carriage ride through a former slave plantation. Even more amazing -- it was owned by a US President. Great fun for kids and a wealth of information for adults.

The home tour was quite enlightening. Our guide was very interactive and open to questions. We also enjoyed our leasurely stroll around the grounds. The most enjoyable part of our day at the Hermitage as by far our ride through the grounds. Our guide was a very personable and knowledgeable young lady who didn't mind my interruptions to ask questions, or casually converse. She even found the humor in the seemingly perfectly timed horse flatulance throughout our journey. Highly recommend the extra expense of the carriage ride!
