“Great Location, New Interior, Horrible Noise”
Reviewed 19 February 2008

I stay in Hampton properties a minimum of two nights a week, so I know a great hotel when I see one. This property does not disappoint - great location, sparkling new and modern interior, comfy beds, mod lobby with fire place and large breakfast area. I was very impressed with the free parking (underground) especially since the location is within walking distance to many tourist places. Unfortunately, I was upgraded to a suite with balcony facing 4th and woke up SEVERAL times during my first night to the sound of police and ambulance. If you stay here my advice would be to request a room not facing the main road. The big corner suite faces this road - just a warning. They did not do a very good job of insulating the windows and doors.

Brand new hotel.. In walking distamce of the Country Music Hall of Fame, less than a block I believe, and two blocks from the Somet Center/Predators Arena..
Parking garage under the hotel was nice... and the breakfast was good, alot better than the usual Hampton Inn breakfasts..
Only complaint I might have is the room was a little smaller than the normal Hampton Inn room, but that may have been due to my using my hilton honors points for a free room, and thay gave me the cheap room probally...

My aunt gifted us with 2 nights in the suite: 414 (the corner rooms) for our honeymoon. WOW, we were impressed! It was like a huge spacious apartment. Huge bathroom with whirlpool, eating area, living room area, glorious bedroom, 2 flat screen tv's. We were stunned. It was all done with so much space & attention to detail.

Very clean, well stocked, nicely decorated. We never left for 2 days. We just ordered in food & movies.. it was that great!

Breakfast lasts til 10am, and was really filling/good variety. The pool was clean, so was the fitness area.

It was romantic, peaceful, really trendy, upscale, we felt like kings! Such a classy stay on great real estate. You are close to everything.

  • Liked — Spacious, Great design, Clean, Romantic, HUGE!, has the WOW factor
  • Disliked — A little noisy with outside traffic (but its downtown), internet patchy at times

You could not ask for a better location to enjoy the District at this rate. Step outside and just a few blocks away you can stroll from one honkey tonk to another, enjoy great restaurants, visit the original site of the Grand Ol' Opry, catch a hockey game, or cheer with the rest of the crazed football fans. The free parking was much appreciated, as was the view of the Country Music Hall of Fame. The room was very comfortable and if you upgrade to a suit, you'll get a wet bar and a seating area.

Breakfast is included and adequate - if you're in a hurry, they have brown bags at the front desk. Staff could not possibly have been nicer - everyone greated us with a smile and a kind word.

Cautionary note: do not expect a great deal of closet space if you're in for a long stay. The closet in our room appeared to be an after thought - it looked like a cutout in the wall that someone stuck a door on top of.

PS Don't miss the daily tater tot eating contest at the RV bar - even if you're the only contestant.

  • Liked — Location, rate and friendly staff
  • Disliked — Limited closet and storage space

My husband and I stayed here the Friday after Thanksgiving. We drove by, and it looked like a great place in the perfect location: a block from the Symphony Hall, the fabulous Country Music Hall of Fame, the the country and western bars on Broadway. We walked in and found a very high end hotel. The designers had free reign here with their new take on modern contemporary interiors. They gave us a beautiful room with a great view of the Nashville skyline. Everything was gorgeous: furnishings, bedding, flat screen TV, accouterments, bath. Our bathrooms had a shower only, so don't expect a bubble bath there. The breakfast was ho-hum, but the kids enjoyed it (the hotel was filled with 100+ tweenage girls who stayed with their Moms because there was a Hannah Montana concert the night before). There is free parking for hotel guests in their underground garage. Hampton Inn is definitely going high class. I would recommend this hotel; it wasn't cheap, but we thought it was a lovely luxury for a night. I also want to recommend the Country Music Hall of Fame across the street. Even if you are not a C&W fan, you will learn a great deal there. It is a fabulous piece of architecture, and their exhibits are absolutely top-flight. They tell the story of C&W music from its origins with the Scotch-Irish bringing English ballads to the Appalachians to the recording and broadcasting of this music with the invention of radio. The turning point in C&W music was Elvis whose pivotal influence as a "rockabilly" star changed the marketing, costuming, orchestration, etc. of the country sound. The museum brings you all the way to the current country star, Keith Urban, who is on tour now; there is a video about him preparing the set design for his current show.
We ate in museum's excellent cafe in the lobby; the food was creative and delicious. They had a guitar player providing tunes while we lunched. If you are a C&W fan, you will go nuts in this place; if you appreciate music in general, you will learn a great deal and come away tapping your foot.
