“Excellent Hampton, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2008

This is a very new Hampton and has a modern, clean feel to it.

Rooms are large and the bathrooms are also decent sized. Nice 32" LCD TVs and FREE parking onsite.

We were on the 6th floor and had no road noise.

Close to Broadway and the hockey arena.

Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast. Only negative was the price of the room, but you pay more for downtown locations.

Highly recommended.

Stayed here just one night on business travel. It seems like the hotel is brand new. The parking garage was a little tight so if you have a big car that might be a problem but that is the only negative. The rooms were very comfortable and nice. The breakfast in the morning was as to be expected. Overall a very nice hotel. It is right across the street from the Country music hall of fame and close to other things downtown.

Our family of four (we have two boys, ages 3 and 20 months) stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in late February. I chose this hotel after reading the reviews about Opryland on this site and deciding it would be a better deal to stay here than there. After staying here, I feel I was right!

First, some of the best parts: the rooms are very large, the breakfast buffet is decent and included, the decor is nice, and my favorite part... FREE PARKING! The only downsides I saw were the price ($240/night, but really worth it for us) and the location could have been a little bit better (see the Hilton, it's in a prime location). I'm afraid I can't comment on the pool area as we did not partake in that particular amenity. Also, there was a little store at the desk area which had frozen meals, ice cream, soda, and other items.

Rooms -- we stayed in a suite with two double beds. The room was very large with a lot of room for the children to run around between the beds and the sofa. The shower curtain had a curved rod. The shower had great water pressure and didn't take forever to heat up. There was only one television, but it was flat screen and on a pivot so you could either turn it towards the sofa or towards the beds. There was a little kitchenette with a refrigerator and a microwave and it's own little sink.

Included Breakfast -- Three choices of cereal, a different hot item every morning, bagels and muffins and a sweet item (such as danish), fresh fruit, and yogurt are all available, and served buffet style with plastic utensils. There was no waffle iron station if that's what you're looking for. There were plenty of high chairs and booster seats.

Decor -- The decor was nice and modern, all of that blue-and-brown-and-white stuff that's so popular these days.

Parking -- the parking garage was located directly under the hotel and very well lit, so we felt perfectly safe there. You had to have a special access code to get into the garage. Again it was free, which was a big deal to me after reading that the Opryland charges $16 a day for parking.

Price -- roughly the same as the Opryland, but more is included in this price. Do what we did and go visit the Opryland for an afternoon, which my kids were sick of after a few hours. That hotel would be very romantic and fun for adults I think, but little kids just aren't that interested in pretty views of indoor gardens. And the meals are so expensive there, you'll end up driving someplace else to eat anyway.

Location -- The hotel is located across the street from the Country Music Hall of Fame and two blocks away from Broadway, which we walked to while carrying the kids. The Hilton was right by broadway so it would have been a little bit better. There weren't really a lot of restaurants around here, just an italian place right next door, so we had to drive to get something to eat, or prepare something ourselves with our microwave and refrigerator (which works well for kids-- but no freezer). We ended up driving out to the Opryland area twice which took about 15 minutes each way.

All in all we had a very nice stay at this hotel and would recommend it to families with small children. Our boys really enjoyed themselves at this hotel, and it was close enough to downtown that if you didn't want to try to see everything at once you could see some things, come back to the hotel, then see some more things later. The boys loved Nashville, too, especially the Dukes of Hazzard museum (Cooters), Opryland, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Parthenon... and the two theme restaurants at Opry Mills: Rainforest Cafe and the Aquarium.

I stay in Hampton properties a minimum of two nights a week, so I know a great hotel when I see one. This property does not disappoint - great location, sparkling new and modern interior, comfy beds, mod lobby with fire place and large breakfast area. I was very impressed with the free parking (underground) especially since the location is within walking distance to many tourist places. Unfortunately, I was upgraded to a suite with balcony facing 4th and woke up SEVERAL times during my first night to the sound of police and ambulance. If you stay here my advice would be to request a room not facing the main road. The big corner suite faces this road - just a warning. They did not do a very good job of insulating the windows and doors.

Brand new hotel.. In walking distamce of the Country Music Hall of Fame, less than a block I believe, and two blocks from the Somet Center/Predators Arena..
Parking garage under the hotel was nice... and the breakfast was good, alot better than the usual Hampton Inn breakfasts..
Only complaint I might have is the room was a little smaller than the normal Hampton Inn room, but that may have been due to my using my hilton honors points for a free room, and thay gave me the cheap room probally...

My aunt gifted us with 2 nights in the suite: 414 (the corner rooms) for our honeymoon. WOW, we were impressed! It was like a huge spacious apartment. Huge bathroom with whirlpool, eating area, living room area, glorious bedroom, 2 flat screen tv's. We were stunned. It was all done with so much space & attention to detail.

Very clean, well stocked, nicely decorated. We never left for 2 days. We just ordered in food & movies.. it was that great!

Breakfast lasts til 10am, and was really filling/good variety. The pool was clean, so was the fitness area.

It was romantic, peaceful, really trendy, upscale, we felt like kings! Such a classy stay on great real estate. You are close to everything.

  • Liked — Spacious, Great design, Clean, Romantic, HUGE!, has the WOW factor
  • Disliked — A little noisy with outside traffic (but its downtown), internet patchy at times

You could not ask for a better location to enjoy the District at this rate. Step outside and just a few blocks away you can stroll from one honkey tonk to another, enjoy great restaurants, visit the original site of the Grand Ol' Opry, catch a hockey game, or cheer with the rest of the crazed football fans. The free parking was much appreciated, as was the view of the Country Music Hall of Fame. The room was very comfortable and if you upgrade to a suit, you'll get a wet bar and a seating area.

Breakfast is included and adequate - if you're in a hurry, they have brown bags at the front desk. Staff could not possibly have been nicer - everyone greated us with a smile and a kind word.

Cautionary note: do not expect a great deal of closet space if you're in for a long stay. The closet in our room appeared to be an after thought - it looked like a cutout in the wall that someone stuck a door on top of.

PS Don't miss the daily tater tot eating contest at the RV bar - even if you're the only contestant.

  • Liked — Location, rate and friendly staff
  • Disliked — Limited closet and storage space
