“Holiday Weekend in Nashville”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

The hotel is beautiful. The room was well appointed, and we enjoyed the super comfy bed. The staff was very welcoming, particularly the fast and efficient valets, and we never had to wait for our car. The location is perfect, close to the bars on Broadway but far enough away so that you don't really hear the noise in your room. One negative was that we were awoken by a drunken fellow and his female friends who thought he was staying in our room. The door is thin, and it sounded like they were standing next to our bed as the girls discussed his situation. We called the front desk to complain, and to make up for our trouble, we were left a coupon for a free coffee at the Starbucks downstairs.

This Renaissance is fairly recently renovated and the rooms are the standard grey/green Renaissance room decor. The rooms were clean and the gym was good - lot of equipment in good working order. The location is also great - walking distance to entertainment on Broadway. What wasn't so great is that they forgot to clean our room on the first day we stayed here, and we had to call housekeeping at 10pm to let them know and get more towels. Another night, all the food outlets in the hotel were running on a 2 hour delay, and one restaurant even had to stop serving food. It was past 9pm, so there wasn't much else open close by. Also, on a Sunday morning, there were empty beer bottles and bottle caps littering the hallway on our floor until about 10am. Perhaps not the most smoothly run operation, but I would stay here again at the right price.

My husband and I stayed for five days at this hotel because he had a conference at the Music City Conference Center. We were on the 25th floor with excellent views of Broadway and Music City Conference City (with its green roof). The room was superb. Very clean and spacious. Floor to ceiling windows with great blackout curtains. The king bed was super comfortable and clean. Pillows were just right. There was a refrigerator in the room, chargers for any device you have, an in-room safe, robes, Aveda bath products, etc. The shower had good pressure and was beautiful - all glass and an excellent shower head.
I stay at several hotels throughout the year and this was in the top three. The customer service from check-in to check-out was great and we were given access to the Club Lounge on the 24th floor. This was heaven and made the stay even better. After my morning run, I could grab a bottle of water, have fresh fruit or yogurt, (or eggs!). In the afternoon, it was perfect for a quick snack and soda. I recommend upgrading to get club lounge access because it turned a hotel experience into a stay with the conveniences of your own home's kitchen. We didn't use it all that often but it was nice that we could.
There is a Starbucks in the lobby of this hotel and that made getting morning coffee easy (there is an in-room coffee maker, however).
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: 24th or 25th floor.

Stayed here several days and every aspect was great. The food, the service, and all the amenities were awesome. Great views abound here also. Just a hop skip and jump from all things country music downtown and the night skyline here is breathtaking.

Stayed here for one night on a weekday and we had a corner room on the 18th floor. Very quiet corner, king room and the bathroom was extremely large and spacious. The rooms seemed recently remodeled and were in good shape. Didn't have any noise problems but that may have been because we were at the end of the hall and stayed on a weekday night.

The view from our room out of the floor to ceiling windows was spectacular. Could see the Ryman auditorium, a straight on view of the state capitol, and part of LP field. In my opinion, this hotel is located in a great spot for seeing anything in Nashville. It is a 4 block walk to the Broadway bars, so close enough to make it to Broadway without much effort but far enough away, you don't get the noise problems.

Although you don't get a free breakfast, I did like how the hotel didn't rip you off on parking. There was an expensive valet option but you could easily park across the street at the library parking lot for $10/day and there was a connecting indoor skywalk from the 4th floor of the parking garage to the 3rd floor of the hotel. Unfortunately, staying here comes at a price and some of the rates would make you think you were staying in Manhattan instead of Nashville. Wish I could have stayed here for more than one night but the next night's rate was almost $300, so we had to stay somewhere else.

Great Accomodations, Great Service, great location. I have stayed at this hotel many times the last few years for both business and pleasure. This last time I stayed for pleasure for 4 nights with my family and the stay was excellent as always. The location for Nashville is perfect. Close to the business center of downtown and very close to the bars and restaurants to listen to all the great music. I am always impressed with the management of this property as there always seems to be a manager or two always greeting you when you come into the front lobby. All the employees from the bell hops, front desk personal, and valet parking attendants always provide the "extra smile and is there anything we can help you with". The restaurant service is excellent as is the bar on the 3rd floor. I have concierge access and I must say this last time the service was really great! The hotel had to move the concierge service to the 3rd floor conference room due to the large amount of people using the concierge access. The staff made sure that there was always plenty of food, drinks and tables available. They continually went the extra mile in cleaning up the tables and providing excellent customer service to everyone (including some difficult to please guests). What a great staff they have! Normally I have never written about my good experiences that I have had at this hotel, but this particular trip they really outdid themselves. Obviously management takes great pride in providing great customer service and very good accomodations. It is the best place to stay in Nashville for location, accomodations and customer service. I would definitely recommend it for either business or personal visits.
