“Excellent Hotel, would stay again.”
Reviewed 8 October 2010

This hotel is located within walking distance of the river walk and restaurants. Would stay here again. Hotel is not high story building so no point in requesting a higher floor room.

We chose this hotel for its close proximity to the Bridgestone Arena. That was perfect. But, being a "convention hotel", I suppose it gets a lot of traffic. The lobby was nice enough, but it had an odd mix of a music motif and a funky color-vibe that seemed out of the 60s. The hotel room itself was very disappointing for the $209 a night we paid. We were in a double and the beds were comfortable. There was a big stain on the carpet that turned me off immediately. If I could see it, plain as day, so could the housekeeping staff. The room was cramped, with a chair stuffed in the corner that was nearly impossible to get to. The tv cable kept falling out, so the signal was lost often and we had to jiggle the cable to get the tv signal back. Very annoying. The bathroom, although clean, was in need of renovation. There didn't appear to be a functioning fan, as the bathroom was completely fogged up after a brief shower. The a/c unit in the room didn't allow for temps below 65˚, but I can assure you, the temp NEVER came close to being that cool. It was stuffy in the room and the windows do not open. Oh, and $13.95 for wifi in the room. Please...in this day and age??? Mind you, you can go to the lobbies on floors 1,2, and 3 and get free wifi, as well as from the Starbucks in the lobby. Although we didn't have a car, it was $27 a day to park at the hotel. There are many other choices for hotels in the immediate area and I will try one of those on my next visit. We won't be staying here again.

The staff here are amazing...They make up for all the many short falls......I could forgive all the problems. But one. The horrible A/C in our room. We literally couldn't get in down past 74* and it was 96* outside. My sister and I thought about sleeping in the freezing hallway. As they were booked solid because some football team was in town and all the crazy people were hanging around the hotel acting like justin bieber fans waiting to attack any big looking man to get an autograph. So changing rooms was out of the question. And after all we were in a corner suite. I will be emailing Mr. Marriott about this.

But the staff were super on every aspect. The club was open for the weekend when usually they are not so we had access. That was great. The food and drinks were great and it was an oasis to sit around there and cool off with a drink and have a snack and enjoy the view of Nashville. The front desk were great and the concierge's were fantastic. Everyone of them friendly and willing to help out with everything.

The hotel is HUGE. No two ways about it. But it's the lobby is great and cozy with lots of places to hang out. I would stay here again, but not in room 1634.

Stayed for more than one week - park across the street for much less and take the bridge on the third floor bar for hotel access. Also very strict smoking policy which can be appreciated but when someone who shares the room smokes their clothing smells like smoke and when you check out - you get charged a $200 dollar fee that they have a nazi you have to deal with that insists that smoking was in the room blah blah blah and they won't provide you with their report period. I don' t know if this is standard but I don't believe that this was fair at all....... Just be careful when you stay here - it can be more expensive than you bargained for !

The hotel staff are awesome. The room was nice, although the shower could be updated. I'm not a big fan of the cemetery of dead bugs in the light above the shower. Every time i looked up to wash my hair i was reminded of them. The bed was wonderful, nice and comfy. Good location. The problem with the stay was that we could hear the conversation of the guy next door to our room. EVERYTHING he said. He wasn't loud, the walls are thin. Which meant we couldnt go to sleep until HE did. The manager apologized, said the building is old and that it was a problem with the hotel. He gave us a free breakfast to make up for it. If you can afford the Hermitage Hotel, go there. We had dinner there and loved the hotel. Otherwise, bring your ear plugs.

Met by great valet staff and friendly desk personnel. This hotel truly has the hospitality skill and made us feel welcome from the start! We parked in the cheaper self park for $8.00 and it worked great. Our room was on the 22nd floor and was very beautiful with comfortable beds and a great view of Nashville outside. We enjoyed the walk around downtown Nashville seeing the Rydman which is right next door to the hotel and the Tennessee River within blocks of the hotel. Lots of restaurants nearby and Mike's Ice Cream which we enjoyed. The only sad thing was the room didn't have a refrigerator, which we have come to expect in a hotel room.

This is my second year at the Renaissance Nashville and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!! The room is very spacious, clean and extremely quiet!! I was on the 22nd floor, and had an awesome view of Nashville!! The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. The bell hops (especially Mike) and outside porters were very hospitable and friendly!! I will definitely stay here next year when the PBR is in town!!
